I'm not going to lie, when we first arrived in Bend I thought, "This is it? What's all the fuss about." When you drive through on the 97 it just looks like a regular old city, packed with people, and businesses. But today...we drove down the cascade lakes scenic byway and stopped for a hike at Sparks lake, and as we were driving there, EVERYWHERE around us were outdoor sports happening. There were bikers, kayakers, paddle boarders! On a random Thursday this area is packed with people living life for REAL! Outside! It was my idea of heaven. What an incredible area this is! Have you been to Bend? What are your thoughts?
Leave your favorite emoji if you have a photo like this of the Geysers in Yellowstone. 🌎 traveling through Yellowstone was on my bucket list! Actually all the national parks are...we've only seen a few up until now, but I plan to see every single one! How many have you been to?? What was your favorite?? Where should we definitely go this year??
I know I'm super late to the game on this one - BUT I've finally started listening to podcasts. Of course the first one I subbed to was @theminimalists 💛 I listened to the podcast from their talk in San Francisco (still crushed I missed it) with @richroll and it was amazing! My favourite takeaway was this point: our priorities are not what we say they are - they're what we do. This is so true 🙈 if your priority is to travel, you'll do whatever you need to do to get there. I've always thought this and talked about it but for some reason it really hit home today - I think it's just so valuable to look at our lives and see how we are actually living & assess whether we are living in line with our values. Doing this on a regular basis will ensure that you are living an authentic life - and a happy one! I've been saying for ages that health is a priority of mine. It definitely used to be, but when I look at what I'm eating now, there is a lot of processed food, a lot of vegan junk food, not enough water and not enough fruit and veg. My anxiety has been off the charts lately and sleep has been sporadic. So after this podcast I made a list of my ideal morning routine. I'm cutting out coffee, I've downloaded @headspace for daily meditation, and I've been stretching/moving, but I'm looking forward to starting a real yoga practice on the regular. So thankful today for endless inspiration, sun, and the ocean. ☀️🌊💛 #minimalism
I remember watching other full time travelers on social media thinking "wow, they have the life." While my husband was off work 12 hour days I would swipe through the full time travel hashtags and envision myself where these Travelers were. I would think about watching my kids run through the sand, our home only a short hike away. I would literally hear the laughter and music in our car as we traveled to each location, some days long some short. I could feel the wind in my hair, and the sun on my skin as I dreamed about long hikes into the wilderness and bike rides to the nearest ice cream shop on a random Tuesday. Of course though, don't get me wrong...I had MANY moments where I felt defeated and thought our traveling days would never come. Life can be a bunch of ups and downs and I know first hand what it's like to feel like you're stuck and going no where in life. The truth you need to tell yourself is, that there IS power in believing what you deserve! You have to truly believe you deserve whatever life you dream about at night because you know what?! You DO DESERVE It because you ARE YOU! Double tap if you truly deserve to receive your dreams! KNOWING what you deserve is the FIRST STEP IN ACHIEVING IT. Put your power to the test!!!
#hotelinspectorsrecomenda As comemorações do 14 Juillet aumentaram as saudades de Paris. Today is a special day. It's my best friend's 28th birthday. I've been with this little nut since I was 14. We've explored life together in good and bad and there's nothing I wouldn't do for her. My sister from another mister, I'll celebrate you soon. I love you banana @pojanabiri 🍌❤
24 hours in Brisbane ✅ I realized during this trip that I love traveling, but I don't love traveling quickly. Sometimes I'll go somewhere "just to see it quickly" and I'm starting to realize that isn't the kind of travel I like. I'm happy I went to Brisbane but I think I need to make sure I have time to chill the f*ck out when I travel instead of checking off a list of places to see/eat/photograph. I'm starting to think that I'd rather see a few places well than a lot of places quickly - does that make sense? When I first started traveling, I went to Europe, and I was traveling quickly - one city a week (that felt quick haha). I got a bit burnt out and told myself that from now on, I travel slowly. Not only is slow travel more cost effective (less planes, trans and buses), it's more sustainable for the environment and for those who are in it for the long term (🙋). I guess the only thing left to do is to get my life together 😂👌🌏
Which hotel amenities/services are your favorites?
What is "home"? How do we define it? How is staying in a hotel room so different from a friend's place. How is a camper more a home than a tent? Living this nomadic life right now I realize that everything is good, when I allow it to feel like it is. Then it can be everything I need. What do you consider a place you want to be "home"? #home#noplacelikehome#nomad#nomadlifestyle#videojournalist
We stayed 2 nights on the top of a mountain in Bulgaria, admiring the surroundings and walking around with the horses we encountered.
Seeing and looking at a group of horses freely wandering around without fences or barriers, in Europe, is just magical...
