ILY fall running weather ❤️🍁 1 hour of easy running this morning to start off my Friday. I get a lot of questions about what my “easy” pace is. My easy pace ranges anywhere from 7:45-8:30 pace, sometimes slower. It all depends on how I am feeling that day. I like to set my Garmin to the clock setting so I can just see the overall time and not focus too much on pace. I used to think that you had to run fast all the time to be fast. Now I am a firm believer in SLOWING DOWN and letting your body recover from those tough, fast workouts. Slowly but surely (and carefully, so I don’t get injured!) getting back to that #marathontraining life 👍🏻
Hey hey day 92!! I have to be honest... I can't wait to see that finish line! I think in the beginning is when I "saw" the changes my body made. I lost like 8lbs super fast. I've since maintained. Now it's more of my inside that is changing. I can run faster and longer. I can workout longer (when needed) I breathe easier. I sleep better. I'm happier (most of the time) I don't get as many headaches. My periods are lighter and easier (less cramps) my skin glows. My hair is growing like crazy. My vitamins are in check. So yes, if you're looking to do this challenge, I say go for it. It's totally worth it!!!! #healthymom#healthy

I'm feeling sassy today, so here's a sassy picture of me 😂😂! Last night I did something uber crazy and exciting, I'll share the details of that event later, and the feelings of excitement carried into my workout this morning 👊🏼. I worked my upper body and core (mostly core) then hit the streets for a fast-ish 3 solo miles, followed by 2 relaxed miles with @gus.the.beagle. My half is just 1 short week away and I'm feeling excited and ready to go run 13.1 miles 😁🙌🏼!
mac & cheeze + salad is the best. combo. ever. this is caesar salad with a dressing similar to what isa chandra has on her site. throw on some roasted garbanzo beans & you've got a super delicious meal! pair it with creamy mac?! yeah. heaven. this is definitely one of my top 5 favorite meals of all time. #latergram

Muchas veces les he contado que el deporte es parte de mi vida desde que tengo 4/5 años; hice gimnasia, atletismo y vez que podía me iba a un gimnasio o al estadio a correr y saltar; hiperkinética siempre.
Pero quiero aprovechar de hablar del tema que está haciendo noticia: el acoso. Algo que no debería ser noticia porque NO debería de existir; el que hombres se crean que pueden decir o hacer lo que quieran con nosotras; vivimos en una sociedad asquerosamente machista y eso viene de la crianza; de las mismas mujeres sometidas que enseñan que el hombre manda y una obedece; NO ES ASI, basta!!!!
Qué relación tiene esto con el deporte se preguntarán; pues agradezco al deporte no sólo mantenerme activa y sana; si no también haberme salvado de ser abusada a los 13 años cuando iba camino al colegio; agradezco el a los 13 años haber tenido los reflejos y la fuerza de golpear a alguien del doble de mi tamaño tan fuerte que el corrió de mi antes que yo de él. Para mi por suerte, no pasó nada, más que el susto, el acoso; pero para tantas otras niñas y mujeres lamentablemente la historia es otra.
Nunca es tarde para iniciar alguna clase de defensa personal o hacer más ejercicio para poder defendernos; no debería ser el enfoque, porque el acoso jamás debería existir, pero es nuestra única arma en esta sociedad de mierda. Seamos más fuertes y demostremos que no nos pueden pasar a llevar!!!

Back to my moonlight morning runs this week. Finally stopped obsessing about how I finished the last 3 miles of the half I ran 2 weeks ago. I can be focused and determined with training but I can't fight the heat and humidity Mother Nature can lay down on a coastal city. Today it felt great to be in the cool air and putting one foot in front of the other without working toward a race goal or negative splits. How it went: ‘ooh a bit rusty with these CTB but it’s only 5.’ Then the cardio aka the demon machine aka assault bike kicks in & I am GASSED!!! ‘It’s fine, you’re learning how to work when you can’t breathe 😂 .’ Round 3, blood blister develops, wincing each time I get on the bar, I distract myself by cheering for the 8am class. Round 7, blister pops, takes some skin & leaves the rig bloody: ‘isn’t 7 supposed to be a magical number? Absolute bollocks!’ Rub chalk on that rip, jump on the rig & a tear comes out. I wipe the blood on my towel & have to use the sameeee towel to wipe the sweat off my face...yeah I was grossed out too AND it’s my blood. I carry on till round 12, breaking the CTB’s into singles but it hurts & I’m wodding glassy eyed now, the pre-cry face is in full effect 😂 I stopped at round 12 and did wallballs instead. To kick start every weekend we are going to give you all a Friday Treat (avoiding dairy and of course gluten) A recipe for each of you to get to terms with to brighten up this February. Treat: Chocolate Mouse (Vegan)
Credit: Nest and Glow
150g Dark chocolate
1 can White beans/cannellini, 400ml / 14oz
Melt most of the chocolate in a bowl over hot water, leave enough chocolate to grate for a topping.
Pour the beans into a sieve with a bowl below to catch all the bean juice.
Whisk the bean juice with an electronic whisk for a few minutes while the chocolate melts.
Add the beans to the melted chocolate and blend together in a jug blender or food processor. You may have to scrape down the sides several times.
Continue to whisk the bean juice (AKA aquafaba) until stiff peaks are formed, this takes about 8-10 mins in total with an electric whisk.
Stiff peaks are when you can turn the bowl upside down and the mixture doesn’t move. With aquafaba you don’t need to worry about over-whisking.
Fold the chocolate bean mixture into the aquafaba then pour into 4 dishes.
Chill for an hour then sprinkle with grated chocolate.
Keep in the fridge and enjoy within 3 days.
