Smith Rock State Park, Oregon.
The northwesternmost point in the continental US 🌲
Thanks @pretone77 for the video. This was a quick project but one of the cooler climbs I have done at #goldbar . This climb is #godofwar
The great thing about camping with kids? They draw our eyes down from the vistas to the intricacies of the ecosystem we've been tramping through.
Ere, in the northern gale,
The summer tresses of the trees are gone,
The woods of Autumn, all around our vale,
Have put their glory on.
The mountains that infold,
In their wide sweep, the coloured landscape round,
Seem groups of giant kings, in purple and gold,
That guard the enchanted ground.
I roam the woods that crown
The upland, where the mingled splendours glow,
Where the gay company of trees look down
On the green fields below.
My steps are not alone
In these bright walks; the sweet south-west, at play,
Flies, rustling, where the painted leaves are strown
Along the winding way.
And far in heaven, the while,
The sun, that sends that gale to wander here,
Pours out on the fair earth his quiet smile,--
The sweetest of the year...

iPhone zoom just doesn’t cut it but trust me there is a whale spouting in the top left.

A sneak peek at yesterday's dreamy shoot with my super amazing and uber talented friend @jennalynnphotog! 🌻
Time is the jack in the box that we crank slowly each day. Death is the jester that pops up and catches us off guard, even though we knew it was coming. So watch what you do with the in between space. It's sacred. You can spend your days trying to reverse the clock and let the speed of time intimidate you. Or you could drink in the beauty of today, be thankful and bob your head to the music.💕
We got every kind of weather as we hiked. Blue skies came out as snowfall lessened, and every lake was more gorgeous than the next. We stopped often, taking it all in. I took some pictures of my friends taking pictures.
Shadows silencing summer like 🌬
It was a race against the sunset, but managed to find a spot and call this home for the night.
@birdsviewbrewery is a great place to visit, whether you are staying in Darrington, Concrete, or just passing through! Stop in for food, #beer and fun with friends!
Mount Hood? More like Mount Lookin' Good!
The sun rises upon a new week....
Fall. In love. With the Cascades.
While sunny blue skies are lovely, there is something about hiking through rugged landscapes under grey skies
Full moonlight filtering through smoke from the nearby Chetco Bar fire on an ocean kayaking trip a few weeks ago.
First I was shocked we were the first on Prime rib, on a weekend at 8 am, and then I was impressed we cruised it to the top. Mazama, where everything goes right, might have to be my new climbing home.
Outdoor enthusiasts love Darrington because of all the outdoor sports it has to offer! Bring your climbing gear, bike, hiking partner, fishing pole, or bathing suite. There's adventure for everyone! (PC: @tvclimber)
Climbs with ugly approaches are just the worst
I drove through the Gorge today and it was about as bad as I expected. Some parts looked fine and others were devastated. And some parts (like this one) were as beautiful as ever... #photooftheday 254/365
Finished summer term of grad school, was part of a wonderful wedding, got to visit Westwind, and caught up with old friends... oh fuck, fall term starts tomorrow... 🍷
Wait for it... (Better with 🎧)
With a fresh blanket of snow on Mount Hood, we are trying to experience each limited day of fall that we have! Another weekend well spent. .
