Did you know that there is actually a “fog” of microplastics—trillions of barely visible shards—permeating the world’s oceans? The guys at @5gyres with a SEA Change research expedition did a documentary called “the smog of the sea” and it’s screening in Byron the 29th. Get your ticket with @cleancoastcollective if you are interested and say No to Single Use Plastic.
Here my ocean friend @currumbinali in an early swim at one of our local spots.
It’s really hard to buy meat substitutes not in #plastic . I understand why: currently demand isn’t high enough and plastic enables a longer shelf life and cheaper transportation. So sadly today I broke my plastic rule for some tofu :(. Thankfully this happy #foiled Santa made me feel a little jollier
"We don’t inherit the Earth from our parents; we borrow it from our Children."
Native America Proverb.
We can expeience the most lavish and phenomenal paradise of heaven on earth the Universe has to offer, if.....
Right NOW we take a stand to honer and respect the #Earth our Cosmic #Mother . She has sustaind us with her love and bounty. Her body has provided us with a unique platform of #Evolution that we could have never experienced anywhere else in this Universe.
All if us Must take a stand #now for her preservation & restoration. So much of the surface soil and waters have been polluted, devastated, destroyed and depleted, that our planet is now reaching a point of no return.
The Trees we cut down are her lungs, the minerals we mine are her organs, the Oil we dredge is her #Blood and Crystals we un-mindfuly collect are her arteries of magnificent energy.
Humans, yes YOU yes #WE are the "ones" who will decide the future course of physical third dimention existence of our planet. We must Assist her in this path.
Unless we now change our course of insanity the way in which we have treated our "mother" very soon, She will no longer be able to continue to #Sustain#Life on her body the way that has been expected. "OUR MOTHER EARTH IS A CONSCIOUS, LIVING, BREATHING BEING OF OUTSTANDING COSMIC MAGNITUDE.
At this point she can longer take the abuse from #humanity and allow her body to continue serving you." The old saying goes - "treat others as you would like to be treated and in return you will be rewarded with health, abundence and gratitude"

It's Cip's Tips time !! Cip's Tip's #5 reuse containers for ordinary grocery items and cut down on plastic waste
Refill containers of your favourite staple foods! You can save money and plastic by refilling your jars of rice, museli, pasta, nuts, oil and heaps of other staple items at your local bulk store. You can also do the same for soap, shampoo, detergent and other cleaning liquids/powders. Simply take containers to your local bulk store, weigh when empty, fill, pay and re-use. We love to visit the co-op at Melbourne Uni, but you can find a listing of many other bulk store here on the Sustainable Table website sustainabletable.org.au
#53Sundays#environment#nosingleuseplastic @sensory_lab failed on the no single use plastic front for a dine in cold drip. One of the reasons I sit down for a coffee is so I can avoid the plastic inherent in takeaways, and enjoy the coffee drinking experience. When I ordered a cold drip to drink in the store this is what turned up. You can imagine my surprise. When I discussed the issue with staff they said that they had received complaints from customers on the size of their dine in, non-plastic cups for the cold drip, so the business went for using the takeaway plastic cups for both options. Naturally I put forward a formal polite complaint on the wastefulness and interference with the coffee experience this produces. Seriously. Who wants to drink coffee out of plastic???!!! #coffee#coffeetastesbetterinamug#noplasticfordiningin#SensoryLab#coffeefail#choosesustainablematerials
Yesterday’s Sunday sips. Frozen raspberries, lemon and soda water. Ahhh so good! Tastes extra refreshing from my gorgeous glass straw 💕 I carry it with me at all times so that I can always have an #ummoment when I’m out and about and say “No straw, thanks”. What will you use your #ummoment for today? ☀️☀️
1st attempt at zero waste shopping, still have a way to go, in some ways it was surprisingly easy to find loose alternatives to packaged fruit and veg. Some things I just couldn't understand, singularly packaged garlic?! Such a shame to see completely unnecessary and excessive packaging on items that have their own natural 'packaging' anyway. Overall though I'd say it was a very easy swap to go unpackaged for fruit and veg, and cheaper too! Was disappointed to see anything organic wrapped head to toe in plastic.
Sunday market haul trying to reduce as much plastic consumption as I can and buy local and in season. So many people think it's too expensive to buy good quality produce however these are pesticide free products that cost less than any major supermarket and straight from the grower. It just takes a little bit of effort to find a good farm that you trust but once you have one it's easy as pie.
Mini Beach Clean Up Today!!😍 Had some time to kill today when I was up at Four Seasons and saw all the ocean debris on the beach and figured it was a perfect opportunity to remove some plastic off the beach and spread awareness.
All of this debris was washed up from the ocean. The problem is getting worse but very few are stepping up to help combat this problem.
Please spread awareness!! STOP using single use plastics and if you have down time come help clean, the more people help the quicker we get these pollutants out of our environment and out of our food chain.

the ban previously only included flowering crops, and wasn’t supported by everyone, as they didn’t think there was enough evidence to support it. Now, however, people are looking out for the bees (and other pollinators) and extending the ban with full support 😁👏🏻🐝
It’s that time of year! The festive season 🎉 Melbourne Cup day just passed and Christmas parties are soon to be planned so what else does that mean??? It’s single use plastic season!! Supermarkets and shops like Kmart are filled with aisles of this stuff. To be used once for a few seconds by a party full of people and then tossed. Don’t be a tosser and use cutlery and plates you can wash up and keep! Refuse to buy this crap that ends up in landfill, oceans and most recently discovered our own food chain! So it ends up in us basically! Not cool 😎
When you’re reaching for that single use plastic contained item at the supermarket think about this video. Regram from @plasticfreemermaid. ...Fam, yes I want you to quit plastics because we are finding more scientific evidence that plastics leach harmful chemicals into our products and foods that could cause cancer, infertility, developmental disorders, and more. BUT WHAT REALLY MAKES MY HEART SINK is when we see our filter feeding friends out there swimming freely swallowing up our single use trash for breakfast, lunch, & dinner. If I'm totally 100% honest, yes I love you, but this is my main motivation. We need to clean the seas for the creatures that cannot stand up or speak up for themselves. We can do better.
This is captured by @shirtstuff from a dive in Bali. Many parts of our oceans are sick. We can do better. #iquitplastics#plasticfreemermaid
This is so heart breaking but I couldnt stop watching in shock! I can't believe things have got this bad and we've allowed this to happen! Let's share this, show it to friends, family, colleges. If they saw this I'm sure they'd do at least one little thing to become more sustainable. I'm going to aim to show this to 5 different people, 5 people I know aren't following me on here, 5 people I know don't normally think about this kind of stuff. These are the people we need to inform and educate. Comment when you have shown 5 people or feel free to tag people in this to show them
Thank you @reefusable for bring this to my attention
I don't miss plastic wrap at all, I use reusable wraps or a container, or a plate/lid to cover food. Such a simple change.
My reusable wraps have been with me at least 3.5 years and they are still ok. When I bought them this type of product was not common and I didn't even know back them if it would be a good purchase but it ended up being great.
I must admit that since they became trendy and you can get them in a variety of fabrics/colours mine look kind of boring🙊🙈 😊 but I hope I can keep using them for many years to come
