Competing at the USAPL Ironside Lift For Pits tomorrow! All the nerves. Weigh ins start at 7am and lifting starts at 9am. This was the first time I had to cut for a weight class for a two hour weigh in, and have been dropping weight for a couple weeks now (143-138) so I better make weight tomorrow and I hope I'm one of the firsts to get weighed in so I can finally eat gummy bears and donuts again!!!! So, if any are you are free tomorrow from 9am-12pm ish, come out and watch!! I'm in Flight A in the morning!!! And men are in the afternoon!
Ive come a heck of a long way in 10 months. Been chasing over #135 FOREVER and finally hit #145 today. Not perfect but getting there. Also thanks @rpstrength for taking away that belly of mine and making me SO powerful. And @kcutler14 for always pushing me!
I was convinced I was carrying a boy for the first 20 weeks of my pregnancy. I always thought I’d have boys. I bought this onesie, in the baby boy section, the day before we found out that she was in fact a girl. I remember thinking to myself, “I guess I’m going to have to return that outfit I just bought.” But I didn’t. I kept it. And I reminded myself just how “mighty” my little girl will be❤️#notstrongforagirl#juststrong#GWPL
@the_fit_unicorn is my primary cheerleader in the gym, so of course I had to come cheer for her today🦄PRs all around and 4 records💪🏻Here’s her last deadlift: 347 at 151 body weight for a 32 pound PR. Love ya girl!
375x3 💪🏽🙌🏽 Determined to bring a beast deadlift to BOTB! This has forever been my poverty lift 🤦🏻♀️ Was able to add 39lbs to my deadlift last meet prep, so this would project me at a 453 deadlift.. LETS DO THIS! @dubs242 @dubsbarbellclub @the_traveling_warrior @deadlifttillimdead @girlswhopowerlift #dubsbarbell#dubsbarbellclub#teamDubs#DBCtakeover#BOTB4
First cut with RP strength in the books! Yowza am I happy with these results. ⚡️🤘🏻 I couldn’t be more thankful for @rpstrength and everything I’ve learned and the way it changed my relationship with food. On to maintenance (after a well deserved cheat day 😉) and looking forward to my next cut in the new year! Thank you to everyone for their continued support and the @thebarathletics for being the best gym ever #rpstrength#rptransformation#dontmindthemessybathroom
I see so many people lifting things over their heads with poor mechanics. The big one I see is lumbar spine hyperextension (arching lower back) which can significantly increase injury risk, especially in the untrained. A lot of people struggle with appropriate shoulder flexion (tight shoulders) BUT... a lot of people have adequate range of motion at the appropriate joints/muscles but just never programme their bodies to move appropriately (better motor control). Staying seated with no back support as you press overhead will soon constrain your body to work out proper mechanics, and therefore a much more safe (less injury prone) and effective (stronger) platform to build from! The exercise in the video has a whole host of other benefits, beyond the scope of this post, but please don’t hesitate to ask if you would like to learn more!
Last Monday 10/16/17 Squats - 5 weeks out -
Video is of my last set.
Squatting in knee sleeves is not the same as squatting in knee wraps 😅.
Going to try to slow down my decent for today's squats for sure. But still, not bad with last week's squats. Especially since this is the most I've squatted raw since my hip injury over a year and a half ago! 🙃💪🏼
