After a stretch of crazy cold weather❄️☃️💨, today is oddly mild and almost warm here in the DC area. After my morning walk with Hugo 🐶 I decided to change things up a bit and go for an early 🏃‍♀️run. It felt great but I was definitely yearning for some green💚. (Everything is so grey here now). I think that’s what inspired my 🍃VERY GREEN MATCHA SMOOTHIE🍃 with tons of fresh spinach🍃, home made cashew milk 🥛, 1 thick slice of pineapple🍍, 1 @lifeequals balance shot💥 (link and code in bio), 1 tbs chia seeds, 2 tbs hemp seeds, 1 tsp @foursigmatic mushroom 🍄matcha blend (code Nourished10 for $$ off), and layered with @foragerproject cashewgurt (for probiotic deliciousness), topped with fresh berries and passion fruit 💕 I think my eyes were bigger than my belly😂. In tonight’s bowl: Roasted potabello 🍄 with garlic and spices 🔥, topped with home made hummus (grateful for meal prep Sunday) dusted with Hungarian paprika💥 (my son 👱‍♂️brought home a big bag for me over the holidays, so I’m literally using it on everything! 😂), on a bed of sauté chard🍃 with sesame seeds (for extra calcium and crunch) and surrounded by roasted broccoli 🥦 and pomegranate seeds. Delightful,  easy, Monday night meal. We’re having cold, icy rain ☔️ here. Hope you’re keeping warm and dry tonight 🙆‍♀️. Yes I did actually brave the 10 degree ☃️ weather to go to the @centralfarmmarkets🥦market this morning (see my stories for what I found) Sadly very few vendors were there but I did get a gorgeous variety of sprouts🌱! It was so cold 💨 and gray I decided to come home and make something bright 🌸 and cheery for my brunch. Using @kitehillfoods plain almond yogurt, I added @rawnice Pitaya powder 💕💕 and attempted to swirl it, added white chia and topped with fresh strawberries🍓, @navitasorganics Raw cacao nibs🍫 and @purely_elizabeth walnut probiotic granola, and a few pieces of @squareorganics Chocolate🍫 sea salt protein bar💪. So I decided to add warm-me-up🔥goodies like ginger and turmeric to my 🌱GREEN GODDESS🌱SMOOTHIE BOWL and load it up with all the high quality nutrients I could think of! Also with so many people getting sick, it seems like immune system building is essential💪. So in my bowl: 1 cup home made hemp milk 🥛, big handful of fresh spinach🍃, 1/2 cup frozen cauliflower, 1 Tbs chia, 1 tsp each @rootandbones chaga 🍄 and pine pollen🌲, and one packet of @sproutliving matcha 💚 drinkable oats🌾 (see bio for discount code) which I love for all the clean, organic, protein rich ingredients. 1” fresh ginger and 1/2” fresh chopped turmeric and 1/4 avocado🥑for extra creaminess and healthy fat! You may not even be able to see the purple sweet potato🍠 nestled under the white beans, avocado🥑, fresh basil🌱 (that was a pleasant surprise to find today!) and sesame seeds... but it’s there. And was so yummy. Surrounded by greens🌿, watermelon🍉 and purple daikon radish for flavor and color. 🌈A little miso ginger 🔥dressing for sweet heat and a probiotic punch to top it off. After cooking a ton this week  for Thanksgiving🍂and beginning prep for my Autumn Reboot 2.0, 👩‍🍳I was so grateful to have @califlourfoods frozen, gluten free, cauliflower pizza crusts🍕 in my freezer tonight. I added sauté garlic, mushrooms 🍄and marinara to one topped with @kitehillfoods ricotta style vegan cheese🧀and smeared the same cheese on the other, topped with grape tomatoes🍅, avocado 🥑and a drizzle of balsamic on the other. Both were delicious! I also want to thank my dear friend V of @heygouter for inspiring 👍me to run my reboot again and then sharing about it in her awesome stories💥 (which I regularly watch because they’re so good!) Today’s warm-me-up 🔥🙆breakfast bowl was inspired by @edgarraw , (if you’ve not seen his exquisite mouth watering 😋feed, wait no longer!) I️ am a big fan of using all the seasonal 🍁🎃🍂produce that I️ can fit into each meal. When you buy what’s in season, it’s fresh, less expensive💰, and has way more flavor💥 than produce that has to travel from another (sometimes far away✈️) place. Today’s PUMPKIN + PERSIMMON OATS 🌾🎃🍂with @bobsredmill gluten free oats🌾, home made hemp milk 🥛, 1 TBs chia seeds, 1 tsp each @rootandbones chaga and reishi 🍄 adaptogen powder, cinnamon, 2 Tbs (home made) pumpkin purée 🎃, 1/3 fresh persimmon pulp, 1 tsp yacon syrup. Cook for about 6 minutes adding hemp milk as needed. Top with raw cacao 🍫, passion fruit 💜, 1/3 sliced banana 🍌 and pomegranate seeds.
