Happy that it’s finally fall and I can live in hoodies and leggings, but that’s nothing new🍁 took a much needed day off from the gym tomorrow and loved how much energy I had today. Although it’s hard for me not to go to the gym every day cause I love it so much, rest days are needed to let your body recover. It’s all about balance and listening to what your body wants and needs.
My women crush goes out to all the beautiful women who supported me, believed in me, and inspired me this past weekend. How long will it take you to reach your body transformation or strength building goals? A few months? A year? Ultimately, it doesn't matter. Sure, you might have a bodybuilding competition to get prepare for. Or you want to slim down for a wedding. Whatever the case may be, then what?! -
My point is, there is no finish line. You put in the work, see results, then do more! Strength training and fitness is a lifelong commitment. That is if you want to keep at your strongest and healthiest. There is no final destination. You can achieve your goals. Of course you have to put in the work. Then do it again next week. You must be doing the right things, staying consistent. You wouldn't clean your house once then never have to do it again. Just like you wouldn't move once to stay strong and healthy forever. There will be stops and setbacks along the way. That's inevitable. But the journey doesn't end until your body quits working. -

The motto as I get deeper and deeper into prep lol👕🙏🏼 I’ll admit it feels weird to not be lifting as heavy as I normally would. But I’m excited to see what this change of routine will give back to me. It has already and in ways more than just seeing the shreds lol. It’s making me realize that nothing is better than living at maintainable weight. Just being vulnerable when I say that of course I’ve worried about if this temporary change was going to impact me negatively, but has actually helped me in a way, confirm living a balanced lifestyle is the continual long-term state to be in🤘🏼 so yes, it of course feels amazing seeing all your hard work come out even more in the physical aspect, but there is definitely proving to be a positive in the mental as well. It’s obvious by now that your mindset and perception is up to you, and this experience I am glad to be reaping the mental gains just as much💓

@gerdebi_fit saw it first....Saturday was one for the books!! I won 1st place in teen and 5th place in novice. I put everything I had into this prep. Days on day on days of hard work. This was my first show, it was a huge learning experience. I can honestly say that a year ago, or even 14 weeks ago, I wouldn't have been able to get on that stage. I have grown physically AND especially mentally. Also, congrats to @the_donjon_ who was up on that stage with me KILLING IT at his first show as well. I want to thank everyone who reached out to me, my friends and family for always supporting me and always believing in me, I want to thank my amazing boyfriend @alexanderberry12 who took on this prep as if it was his own, and I want to thank my coach @claytonp525 . I can hardly believe it myself but I am SO excited to compete for the first time as as IFBB PRO, which I never actually did for several reasons. I got pregnant with the twins and since then, it's been all about building our @teamedge1 business and taking care of the family. I've been itching to get back to it for quite some time but didn’t realize it’s been 6 years....how times flies 🙈😮 it hasn't felt like the right time until now and I truly feel I can give my all once again and I am sooooo excited about it, specially excited about pushing my body hard again! without a show in mind I stayed in ok shape with some up and downs but nothing like contest prep motivation!
I'll be sharing my journey with you all through the whole prep, and I hope you'll find it inspiring specially after having twins and c-section!! I have been in contest preparation for just 10 days and I super excited to see the changes and to share my journey with you guys!

I used to think i didn’t care what anyone else thought of me, and while that may be true in certain situations...I recently discovered that I care waaaaaay too much. And when you think about it, what’s the point of that? We all don’t share the same brain, same background, and certainly not the same opinions. People are gonna disagree with you and have a completely different objective and that’s just the way it is. That will never change until the day humans don’t exist anymore.
I’ve been reluctant to share a lot of what I’m going thru, and the feelings I have because I’m afraid that people are thinking I’m throwing some kind of pity party for myself. I know I’ve shared a lot with you all, but I really have only scratched the surface. It is not easy being this vulnerable and allowing everyone and their mother to have a front row view into my personal issues. But the amount of messages I receive from women feeling inspired, being able to relate and not feel alone, and most importantly...taking action in their health after hearing my story is MY MOTIVE for why I share what I share.
It’s ironic how I’ve gone from a life of dieting, cardio and intense weight training...where all I did was eat, sleep and breathe bodybuilding...to having to scale back on activity level, while eating plenty of food and watching the scale go up, the clothes get tighter and there’s nothing I can do about it except be patient. Gaining 8 pounds in 21 days from my hormone replacement therapy and trying to reprogram my brain to think I’m awesome no matter what my body looks like is harder then any diet or “prep” feels I’ve ever experienced.
I was not a victim of poor coaching, my coach is great..and I do not blame bodybuilding for what happened to me. Yes these issues occurred because of getting to an extremely low body fat and a cycle of yo-yo dieting, but it was my responsibility to be visiting the doctor regularly to make sure my body was functioning properly. When you make the decision to put your body thru such extreme measures you must also make the commitment to take care of it. I now feel a sense of responsibility to scare the shit out of you to (continued in comments 👇🏼😬)
