I had to change what I had been practicing for months. I had to practice over and over trying to not limp when I walked or let my knee buckle in transitions. I had physical therapy 2 days out. One of my favorite things to incorporate during offseason for size and muscle belly development is muscle fascia stretching. Pausing when the muscle is fully lengthened during a movement allowing the fascia around the muscle group to stretch, followed by either forced reps or a superset to pump more blood into the muscle. 
I personally use it at the end of the workout with isolation exercises (pullovers, flies, etc.). DO NOT, however, relax your joints during the stretching portion of the movement, that's how you dislocate something or injure yourself. Don't want that.

Bulking Calories/Macros: 5500cal

Fats: 130g

These are all minimum numbers. So have to hit AT LEAST those numbers per day. Slowly tapering up the calories over the next few months. You are what you eat, so if you want to get big, you gotta eat big... no way around it. 
But course these macros are tailored to me specifically (and my freak metabolism). Everyone's body is different so everyone's caloric needs are going to be very different. All about finding what works for you.

Today's Shoulder Day Finisher! Seated DB Lateral Raise to a Seated DB Scaption

Lateral Raise:  Slight lean foreword and "Pour the drink" (tilt thumbs down as DB comes up) to keep emphasis on lateral head of the deltoid. Keep DB at/below parallel with floor to prevent traps from taking over. Till failure, then

Scaption:  Chest up, depress shoulder blades. Keep thumbs up and raise DB slightly in front of body to engage more of the anterior deltoid while keeping the lateral head the primary working muscle

A great way to make yourself go past the point of failure. Because #repsdontstartcountingtillitstartshurting πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯πŸ”₯

We often look at the physical transformation, but I remember the mindset and my life stage every time I look back at previous comp pics. Truly blessed, humbled and thankful for the growth that has happened in this nearly 2-year span. The very thing we avoid and view in a negative light - that is, obstacles and challenges in life - are the very things God puts in our lives to foster faith and growth. We can use them as tools to become better, or we can fall victim to them and never know our true potential. I'm hoping to finish out this life and be able to say I took advantage of every obstacle, situation, and circumstance that came my way, whether I live only 1 more day or 40 more years. #theobstacleistheway #perspective #liveandgrow -

LEFT ⬅️a few days out from #NPCUNIVERSE where I earned my pro #IFBB status. This was definitely my favorite package I brought to the stage; muscles were full (no diet booty ✌🏼) and 
ALL NATURAL. Carb manipulation and a slow cut are to thank πŸ‘πŸΌ
RIGHT ▢️ 8 weeks post show, roughly 15lbs up from the left photo. Lifting very heavy, caloric surplus, and enjoying some treats on the weekend. Trying to hold steady at 20lbs up to add some substantial muscle when I grace the pro stage next year. 
I get a lot of "OMG YOUR TRYING TO GAIN 20lbs 😱" comments.  Being roughly 6ft tall makes the 20lbs seem like less of an addition, and not all girls will need to put on this much weight in an improvement season. When tall girls lean out, it's very very easy to just look skinny (lose muscle along with fat), so building as much as possible in a caloric surplus when your vertically gifted will help maintain muscle mass in a cut/caloric deficit. If you do it in a controlled, slow manner, the weight will go to all the right places. πŸ˜ˆπŸ‘
