Just some honesty for you..I didn't want to be here today. Work and school have been on an overload this week. I'm beyond exhausted but reminding myself that it's the little steps each day that add up to the big picture. Keeping my goals in mind, I made it somehow and I've never felt better finishing up. Always show up, never give up. It's when things get tough that you have to dig within and keep moving ✨
I have been reasonably lucky that so far, between work and placements, I have not experienced much in regards to patients and death. Yesterday one of my palliative patients passed away. Even though he was palliated, it happened very quickly and his family was wishing for more time to say goodbye. I’m grateful that I could be a comforting presence in the room. I’m grateful that I was able to help care for the patient all the way down to handing him over to the mortician. I’m grateful that I could experience this because it makes you realise what’s really important, and death is something we are all going to face one day. I hope the family is able to support each other through their grief. And I hope I can use this experience to continue to grow as a nurse #nursing#nurses#nurse#nurselife

Working 2 jobs is definitely kicking my butt 😓Trying to manage my free time so I can get some content out for you guys. I want to answer any nursing career/ nursing school questions you guys may have. .
Yes I'm on vacation and yes I'm studying and working a little 🤓but emphasis on a liiiiittttttle and only so long as it feels fun and productive. To balance it out I also went shoe shopping twice in the last two days (thanks for your votes on my insta story 👍🏻) and got Auggie some new toys because I can't not spoil him. I mean. Look at that face!! #staycation#chicago#ilovemydog
I did a thing, I geeked out 🙀 I checked out the Florence Nightingale museum and Britain’s oldest operating theatre, which was sooooo cool!! It had all the old saws for surgery and herbs for medicines, and it was at the top of a tower that had the tiniest, narrow winding staircase!!
I met this girl in A&P 1! We ended up taking A&P 2 and nutrition together (total coincidence too) texted each other through all nighters, anxiously awaited grades, dissected cats together and now she's an RN and I'm in nursing school! She works at my clinical site and getting to see her in action was the coolest thing ever, so proud of how far we've both come!

Wanted to see how many sets of 225x10 I could get with no leg drive. Hit 6 and missed on the 7th. I alternated between CG and regular grip each set starting with CG. fFirst two sets and failed set shown.
At the Jackson Chance Foundation, it is our mission to ensure that every NICU baby receives their basic human right – advocacy, support, and human touch 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Medical studies have proven that physical touch has equal benefits to medical care for premature and ill babies. By removing the financial burden of parking fees for families, we make sure this basic human right isn’t taken away.
Jackson Chance Foundation works directly with hospitals to provide parking passes for each and every baby in the NICU, regardless of need, because it is our belief that every baby needs a parking pass. Currently, our program is available at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children’s Hospital of Chicago and Northwestern Prentice Women’s Hospital.
