Don't think that healthy meals always have to be pretty and instagramable and take half of a day to prepare! It's about simplicity and sticking to it, like with this easy chicken curry with brown rice ☺️
Who will tell me, what is the best cheese in the world for “shmelting” on toasts? These toasts make me shake from deliciousness and excitement: whole grain bread, **secret** cheese, spicy tomato sauce, sun-dried tomatoes, pine-nuts, garlic, cherry tomatoes and lots of basil 🌿. Mmmm yum-yum-yum ...
Right from the time of John The Baptist, we were introduced to this delicacy. And till today, we are still enjoying it.
One of the strong reasons why I must visit Maiduguri one of these days.
After swim snack. 💚 The swimhall was almost empty again today and it was so nice! Did my 1.500m swim. First 1.000m I swam in breaststroke. Last 500m I switched all 100m between front crawl and back stroke (so 300m front crawl and 200m back stroke). Afterwards 100m relaxed swimming on the pullbuoy, then 4x25m sprint (front crawl) and then 10 min into the 30 degrees celsius warm water pool! 😎 I think the 500m front crawl are not far away anymore! 🏊🏻♀️😊👍
Today I put green onions in his omelet. Because it’s my job to introduce him to new foods, appearances and textures. I know that if I worry about if he will eat it or not he likely will be fearful too. But he’s not. He eats it. He inspects it. He tastes it. And he eats it. Because he doesn’t know anything but what I teach him. I am teaching him how to eat anything.
I did this with my daughter too. I would put spinach in her bean and cheese tacos. She would pick at the spinach and wonder why it was there 🤷♀️. I would just say: we don’t pick it out. We eat it. Because someone else doesn’t have anything to eat. It’s impolite to pick it out. And so she would eat it.
I’m the grain in their oyster. Always annoying them. Always growing them. Always stepping them outside their comfort zone. Eating what they are served. Eating what’s for dinner. Just because that’s what’s easier for me.
What do you do to help teach your kids how to eat?
