Mexican Rice and Quinoa Bowl~
Ingredients ~
🔹1 cup of left over brown rice
🔹1 cup of cooked and cooled quinoa
🔹1 can of organic black beans, drained and rinsed
🔹1 onion
🔹1 yellow pepper, diced
🔹1 red pepper, diced
🔹1 tbsp olive oil
🔹2 gloves of garlic
🔹2 tbsp tomato paste
🔹1/4 cup organic salsa
🔹2tsp cumin
🔹1 tbsp chili powder
🔹Cilantro to garnish
🔹Lemon Wedges
🔹3/4 cup water~
~
Directions ~
🔹In a large skillet heat up the olive oil and sautée the onion and garlic until the onion starts to get soft.
🔹Add in the diced peppers, and the cumin.
🔹Add tomato paste, salsa and water to the skillet.
🔹Stir to mix together.
🔹Once it’s simmering add the rice, quinoa and rinsed black beans.
🔹Let simmer until flavours blend together.
🔹Garnish with the Cilantro and the Lemon Wedges.~ ~

Многие люди любят диагностировать у себя различные проблемы: говорить о том, что у них "снижен #имунитет" или что им "не хватает витаминов", даже не понимая, что такое иммунитет, как он работает и зачем, собственно, его подстегивать.

Подобные разговоры зачастую принимают форму навязчивого состояния с целью постоянно себя "подлечивать", находясь в плену ряда мифов об иммунитете.
Какие мифы об иммунитете самые распространенные?

МИФ 1. Медикаменты, именуемые иммуномодуляторами, все направлены на укрепление защитных свойств различных органов.
ПРАВДА: Чтобы помочь своему организму с защитой от патологических бактерий и вирусов, необходимо понимать, какая область вашего организма подвержена атаке и стоит ли тратить деньги и время на стимуляторы иммунитета, а также знать, какой из них выбрать: их существует несколько типов. Самостоятельно назначать их себе и детям нельзя!

МИФ 2.  Все болезни от плохого иммунитета.
ПРАВДА: это верно на столько же, как и утверждения типа: “все болезни от нервов”, “... неправильного питания”, “... от позвоночника” и т.д.  То есть - полная ерунда. Обычно для развития заболевания нужно несколько факторов, одним из которых может быть и снижение иммунитета. Например, язвенная болезнь желудка развивается на фоне повышенной кислотности, нарушения моторики, в том числе и за счет психоневрологической дисфункции, а также ослабления местного иммунитета. С другой стороны, сахарный диабет развивается независимо от состояния иммунной системы, но в дальнейшем приводит к ослаблению иммунитета. При любом заболевании страдают многие органы и системы, так же как неполадки в работе отдельных систем могут привести к появлению проблем в остальных. В целостном организме человека все взаимосвязано.

🙋🏻‍♂️¿Cuándo tomar suplementos de proteína, y cuándo no? .
Lo típico, asistes al gimnasio 💪🏻 y los entrenadores comienzan a recomendarte un sinfín de productos, entre ellos “la proteína”. La mayoría de proteínas existentes en el mercado se caracterizan por contener proteínas provenientes del suero de leche (aislado), aportan por toma un aproximado de 20-30 g de proteínas y de 1-5 g de hidratos de carbono, entre otros ingredientes. No nos meteremos en analizar cuál proteína usar, sino en qué casos podemos incluirla en nuestro régimen alimentario.  El problema no reside en la formulación de dichos suplementos, sino en la utilización de los mismos

Los suplementos de proteína se emplean con el objetivo de promover la síntesis de masa muscular al brindar los sustratos necesarios para ese proceso (anabolismo), sin embargo, es necesario evaluar las necesidades del individuo antes de suplementar
.
Un profesional de la salud, en este caso un nutriólogo, debe ser aquel que evalúe tu composición corporal para poder fijar objetivos a corto, mediano y largo plazo, y así poder adecuar tu plan de alimentación y al mismo tiempo valorar si es necesario agregar algún suplemento. Por ejemplo, si tus niveles de grasa corporal son altos es necesario disminuirlo, por lo tanto el objetivo del plan sería disminuir tu ingesta de energía y no ingerir un suplemento de “proteína”, ya que no cumpliría su propósito y en ciertos casos podrían agregar valor energético que ocasionaría un aumento de peso corporal. Una vez que se llega al peso y porcentaje de grasa óptimos, se pasa a la siguiente fase que sería incrementar el porcentaje de músculo

Por otro lado, si ya comienzas la intervención nutricional con un porcentaje de grasa corporal adecuado y deseas aumentar masa muscular, el nutriólogo podría sugerir el uso de un suplemento si a través de la alimentación no cubres tu requerimiento proteico, además es importante recalcar, la rutina de ejercicio también influye en la pérdida de peso y/o aumento de masa muscular, por lo cual se necesita un plan integral en el cual el nutriólogo se coordine con el entrenador para lograr las metas de forma eficaz y segura

Love these no bake high protein energy bites!! Super simple snacks to make for all week long! 
INGREDIENTS * 3/4 cup almond, coconut or any gluten free flour (I use Bob's Red Mill)
* 1/2 cup Juice Plus vanilla Complete * 2 tablespoons unsweetened almond milk or coconut milk
* 2 tablespoons refined coconut oil, melted
* 2 tablespoons pure maple syrup
* 1/3 cup dairy free mini chocolate chips
* 
INSTRUCTIONS

1. In mixing bowl, stir together  flour and protein powder. Add almond milk, coconut oil and maple syrup. Stir until dough comes together
2. Mix in mini chocolate chips. Roll dough into tablespoon-size balls. Place on plate, lined with parchment paper. Chill in refrigerator until firm.
3. Store cookie dough bites in airtight container in refrigerator.

And on Sunday's it's all about the Mason jar meal prep😁🙌🏻 to the left we have pasta sautéed with EVOO, arugula, garlic layered with free range organic chicken sausage and cherry tomatoes. To the right, creole quinoa layered with grass fed lean ground beef, asparagus/red peppers/mushrooms. And when you're ready to eat, just empty the jar onto a plate or bowl and it presents really beautifully. Meal prepping doesn't have to be fancy or time consuming. Including shopping time the whole process took me 2 1/2 hours. Anything is possible when you want it bad enough and health is something I want to maintain strongly. I was feeling a little flat this morning, even though I love Mondays!! I usually catch up on my paperwork that I haven't done over the weekend and take the dogs for a big walk. Today I saw my 10 year old off on a three night school camp and I miss him already. I know not everyone will understand that. I don't think I'm an overbearing mum but my kids fill my heart. I feel less whole when they're far away. 💔 I washed the car inside and out and repaired a tear in the upholstery and on the way home I thought to myself, "I'd feel a lot better if I got a delivery today." Boom. My wish was granted. Behold my new oil case from @overallwellnessau! It holds 103 bottles!! I've moved my oils out of three different (NOT matching 😩) cases and a box and it feels so much better this way. Sigh. Este es un paciente que en lo personal me impactó demasiado su cambio, les confieso que no me la podía creer. Yo sé, que todavía le falta mucho para aliviar la Psoriasis que tiene, pero es de esas veces que te emocionas muchísimo por el paciente (creo que me emocioné más que el mismo jiji).⠀

¿Pero saben lo que más me impactó? Que no estaba utilizando ningún medicamento (eso el me comentaba) y qué con una alimentación saludable con ciertas especificaciones, se le bajó bastante en tan solo ¡¡3 semanas!!⠀

Les soy sincera, es el primer caso de Psoriasis que veo, desconozco si con únicamente alimentación saludable se puede llegar a quitar por completo la Psoriasis. Además, desconozco si todas las personas reaccionarían igual y al mismo tiempo que mi paciente (lo más seguro es que sea muy diferente por persona). Pero lo que si estoy segura es que se puede disminuir esta condición, como muchas, con una alimentación saludable y balanceada.⠀

But do you know what shocked me the most? He was not using any medication (he told me that), and with just having a healthy diet with certain specifications, he lowered his Psoriasis in just 3 weeks!! (time will depend on each person).⠀
Sincerely, is the first case of Psoriasis that I see, I don´t know if with only a healthy diet you can completely remove the Psoriasis. Also, I don´t know if all people would react the same and at the same time as my patient (most likely it will be very different per person). But what I am sure is that you can reduce this condition, like many, with a healthy and balanced diet.⠀

Wedding fun! 👰 Had fun celebrating love last night with my love 💕 I thought it might light a fire for us to start planning our wedding.... but it was the total opposite hahaha. I LOVE this approach 🙌🏼💕 sometimes when you’re in the midst of a challenge with your health, a stressful or emotional time, or really anything that isn’t aligned with what you desire, it can be overwhelming and difficult to see a path forward. So rather than trying to overhaul everything at once ask yourself “what is the next right thing”. Not what is the perfect solution, what is the quick fix, or what are ALL THE THINGS that need to be addressed. Just from here, in this moment, what is the next right thing I can do or reach for which will move me closer to where I want to be. And from there, just keep stepping forward 🙏🏼 •
