I'm always asked which foods are best for losing weight. Truth is, there are no "best" foods. No food will magically help you lose weight faster than any other...

However, one aspect of your food choices that can have a big impact on your ability to stay consistent is its convenience.

You see, most folks (including myself) don't have the time or patience or desire to spend hours a day cooking. They might stick to it at the start when they're uber motivated. Heck, maybe they keep it going for a couple weeks or months, too. But eventually, they reach a point where the time commitment's just too much.

That's why it's helpful to have a handful of convenient foods on deck for times when you're rushed or on the go. These six are some of my favorites, and they're staples in my day-to-day diet.

Many people think that fatloss is easy process. It is simple but not easy. You need to keep patience and be consistent.
I have mentioned some mistakes people make while starting their fatloss journey.
___ 🚫 Cutting a specific macro from diet: This the the mistake many of the people starting and fat loss ourney do. Cutting out of micronutrient is bullshit. For fatloss you need to consume all macronutrient in moderation.
___ 🏃 Not tracking calories: After starting a new diet due to exitement people track their Calories for few days and forget or ignore tracking their calories. 
___ 🏋 Not focusing on strength training: Fatloss=Cardio is the misconception people have in their mind. For fatloss people spend hours and hours walking and running on trademill. Ignoring the resistance training which is most beneficial for fatloss.
___ 💊 Relying on pills and lotions : Instead of hardworking people find some shorcuts or due to frustrating they tend to find easy way for fatloss. And due to fancy marketing buy the supplements brand they think that taking pills and potions will give them their dream body.

The picture on the left is of me before starting any form of exercise regime. I just want to start out by saying that I’m not saying that there is anything wrong with how I looked, but it was more about how uncomfortable I felt. 
In the picture on the left I had low self confidence, was always feeling lethargic, had poor self image and felt uncomfortable in my skin. I took that picture at a wedding, and particularly wore a teacup style dress as I did not feel comfortable wearing anything tighter.
Finding a fitness regime that I enjoyed and could stick to helped not only transform me physically, but also built self confidence. Confidence in believing that I could push and be better everyday and not give up. Confidence that I was able to accomplish things I never thought I could. Confidence in myself and how I felt🌟 
For those asking, I am still rotating between BBG stronger 2.0  and PWR for the sweat challenge 🤣 I just love them both, so do workouts from each every week💫

🍉If you feel like you’re constantly starting and stopping over and over again then it’s time to just do ONE thing that you ENJOY that will bring you closer to your goal. Anything that will get you to move a little bit more or eat a little bit less. Doesn’t have to be major. Just find something, and stick to it for a month. ONE THING FOR ONE MONTH. That’s it. Then add something else each month.

💧if you’re looking for a sign, this is it!! Go get a glass of water, stat. Every cell in your body needs this. How do you remind yourself to drink water? I have 3 methods that work for me:
1.  Rubber bands representing number of bottles I plan on drinking, on my water bottle. Simply remove one each time I empty it. 
2. Flavour it with citrus fruit, fresh mint, even chia seeds for aqua fresca!
3. Set a reminder on my phone for a glass at wake up, lunch and 30 mins before dinner. 
4. An app, like Waterlogged. It’s free and you can set your goal for the day and watch yourself reach it!

The thing is, diet food doesnt have to be boring. Dieting is much more than chicken breast, salad and oats. Choose from a variety of low calorie(or lower calorie option like fat-free) food that you actually enjoy. Just dont go overboard and stay within your targetted calories(learn how to count them, its really simple!) This way you can actually enjoy your fat loss journey 😊

Far too often, when trying to lose fat, people think that cardio and nutrition are the two main variables that matter, with cardio taking a much larger slice of the pie

This come as a shock to some people but you don't need to do any cardio to lose fat. It is a healthy thing to do, so it should be done, but not mainly because of its fat-burning properties

A much more effective approach? Nail your nutrition. Put yourself into a moderate calorie deficit to start, and focus on eating nutrient-rich foods at most of your meals. Adequate protein intake is very important as well

From there, developing strength and maintaining lean muscle through lifting turns your weight loss phase into a fat loss phase, helping you not only burn more fat but also gain a healthy, sculpted look and feel

Minimizing stress and prioritizing sleep (7-9 hrs/night) are also important variables. They will help optimize your hormone functioning to aid in the goal you have set

📍Based on your individual genetic profile, you may be more susceptible to carrying fat in your stomach, lower body, chest, arms, etc. or even in your joints⠀

📍There's not much you can do about where your body distributes its fat, but there *are* ways to reduce fat in these areas and even change their appearance through muscle building⠀

🍛This is one of my favorite meals to make as I love stir-fry. I find it very tasty and filling as it incorporates all three macronutrients. I can personally eat stir fry anytime of the day. I would usually eat this kind of meal after a workout or around dinner time, but if you wanna eat it for breakfast then that's ok too🙋🏼‍♂️! If you don't enjoy any of the types of food mentioned, you can always switch them out for something else😲. If you don't like chicken you can opt it out for some white fish or lean ground turkey, if you don't like rice you can opt it out for pasta or potatoes, if you don't like broccoli you can opt it out for carrots or peppers, if you don't like cashews you can opt it out for almonds or walnuts and if you don't like teriyaki sauce you can opt it out for hot sauce or honey garlic sauce🧐. If you decide to change the foods the calories and macronutrients will be different but will be relatively close☺️. These are just suggestions that I've found that make great meal ideas that are simple and tasty! Pick anything you like to incorporate and make it simple🙌🏼! Your meals don't have to be boring! Enjoy the foods you love while reaching your goals😋.

⚾️Great for if you’re tight for time or want a little metabolic conditioning finisher.

⚽️All you need is a Medicine ball and a wall or target for your wall balls. Suggested weight for guys is 20 lbs & 14 lbs for the ladies (can scale it up or down depending on your level)

🏀Wall Balls: Position yourself about an arms-length away from the wall. Hold the ball against your chest and go down to a full squat. Come back up fast to use your leg power to throw the ball up - aim to hit 9-10 feet high.
.
🏐Ball slams: Great stress reliever. Bring the ball up overhead in full extension and SLAM it down on the ground. Pick it back up in a squat and repeat!
.
🎾Overhead Lunges: Hold the ball in full extension over your head. Step forward or backward into a lunge position. Front knee should be at 90 degrees. Really press up into the ball. Keep your core tight and press the FRONT heel to come back up.

⚾️Russian Twist: Sit in a V (you can keep your feet on the floor to make it easier) Rotate the ball back and forth. It should hit the ground on each side. Try to do this one slowly and under control.

You wouldn't believe this even if you were there... At dinner after a long day of growth hacking with friends I've known for years I got a question. "Can you eat that??" Heck yes, I enjoy bread, desert, and champagne!

When average dieters try to lose weight they focus on LACK.  They "can't" have pizza, bread, alcohol, mousse, and so on.  Does that sound familiar?

How does that work for You? For me and my clients it seems to be a losing battle.  We miss enjoying food. We're tempted by treats.

Instead I don't say can't. I say that I choose. 
Choose to eat foods that energize you.  This means you can indulge in treats but for the most part you choose not to.

Your food should make you empowered and NOT a victim.

Asked to go out to lunch with some family- normally I would say no and stay on my cutting  diet, but I decided to go. After looking at the menu and the macros I found something that would fit my largest meal of the day:

Some tips on going out to eat and staying on your macros 
1. Don't just order something you think is healthy, like a salad. Believe it or not-some of those salads can go way over 1800 calories😮

2. Do some research on the place you're going. Look at the healthy choices and see how the macros can fit into one of your regular meals 👊 
3. Remember you're in control of your order 👆 You can take off the bacon to avoid more fats or order a side garden or caesar salad and ask for the dressing and cheese on the side. Most of the fats and calories come from the dressing what can easily add up to 400 cals in no time 💪

If you feel a winter sniffle👃coming on then you need this 🌶SPICY SUPERFOOD CHILI VERDE🌶!!
Created by the best soup maker I know, my hubs @blatz75, this soup will getcha back on ya feet and put a bounce in ya step 💃. Made w/ lots of spicy peppers to help clear your sinuses, bone broth to support a healthy gut + all those veggies packed with immune boosting nutrients!
Ingredients:
2 lbs chicken breasts or thighs
2.5 tbsp ground cumin
2 tbsp dried oregano
1 tsp sea salt
2 tsp coarse black pepper
2 tbsp olive oil
2 med yellow onions (diced)
5-6 cloves garlic (roughly chopped)
4 green chiles (w/ seeds, coarsely chopped)
4 poblano peppers (seeded, coarsely chopped)
3 med jalepenos (seed 1, leave 2 with seeds, coarsely chopped)
1 bunch kale (stemmed, finely chopped)
2 lbs fresh tomatillos (paper husk removed, quartered)
32oz chicken bone broth
Toppings:
1 bunch cilantro (chopped)
4 radishes (julienned)
2 avocados (sliced or diced)
Tortilla chips
Greek yogurt
Shredded cheddar cheese or Mexican blend
Limes (cut into wedges)
Directions …
Chicken:
1) Heat oven to 375°, bake chicken, lightly seasoned with salt & pepper, 35-40 minutes.
2) Remove from oven, let cool for 5-10 mins & then shred with two forks or chop into 1/4"-1/2" pieces, set aside. 
Soup:
1) On stovetop put a large soup pot or Dutch oven on med-low heat. 
2) Add cumin thru pepper & lightly toast spices until fragrant, ~1-2 minutes. 
3) Add olive oil & mix with spices.
4) Turn heat up to medium & immediately add diced yellow onion & garlic. Allow to cook until softened, ~8-10 min.
5) Add green chiles thru jalepenos & allow to cook ~10-12 minutes until everything is softened. 
6) Add tomatillos & kale, cook 12 more mins until tomatillos begin to breakdown.
7) Add broth, cover & allow to simmer over medium heat for 10 min.
8) With an immersion hand blender, blend soup in pot until smooth. If you don't have an immersion blender ladle soup into regular blender in batches, blend until smooth, return everything to pot.
9) Add chicken & simmer on low for 10 min.
10) Eat! Ladle into bowls & top w/ dollop of yogurt, cilantro, cheese, radish, avocado, chips & squeeze of lime.

I wasn’t feeling the best this week and was pushing through to keep up with full-time work, wife, mom to 2 active busy teens, mom to 🐶, fitting in workouts 🏃‍♀️& keeping up with the 🏡. So happy to be now sitting down after my HITT 💦 class to 👆. Some weeks are easier than others but we are now in the middle of 🏀 season so our nights are super busy between homework, dinner & games.  I was stressing more this week about healthy meals and making sure to have enough cooked for the kids. .

Sometimes we put unnecessary stress on ourselves, but it’s super important to not be so hard on ourselves if dinners are perfect, if workouts are not long enough, if laundry is piling up, or if bathrooms🚽 aren’t sparkling. .
.

I took me years to realize and accept that my sanity if more important than things being perfect.  Now I ask for help when I need it.  People are willing to help you so don’t be afraid to ask.  Kids and teens are capable and should be held responsible for chores around the house 🏡. It’s a team effort at home 🏠 , so we can keep up with things and at the same time enjoy life, spend time together & create moments/memories together. That’s what life is about, am I right?

A lot of folks think of “drinking alcohol” and “losing weight” as an inverse relationship 📈📉. That is, the more alcohol they drink, the heavier they’ll be, and the only way to lose weight is to avoid drinking altogether.
– 
While there’s some truth to this, it’s no different than consuming too much of anything (even healthy whole foods). Consume too many calories ⬆️ — taking you OUT of a calorie deficit — and you’ll not lose weight 🙅‍♂️
– 
Now back to alcohol🍺 —> of course, the most most diet-friendly choice would be skipping alcohol all together. But for most people (myself included) that’s not a totally realistic request 😉

And the good news is that drinking won’t automatically derail your progress. If you’re able to control your total calories, then it's 100% possible to drink alcohol and still lose weight!
– 
To help, here’s a four step plan I use for myself and my clients:
– 
1️⃣ Focus on Veggies 🥗, Fruit 🍎, & Lean Meats 🍖 Earlier in the Day - this will help you stay full on fewer calories and ensure you get plenty of protein & micronutrients in before drinking.
– 
2️⃣ Stick to Low-Calorie Drinks - to get the most alcohol *bang* for your calorie *buck*, go with liquor (whiskey, vodka, tequila, etc.) on the rocks 🥃 or with a zero-cal mixer (diet soda, LaCroix, seltzer water, etc.)
– 
3️⃣ Once You’re Drinking… STOP EATING 🤤❌🍔 - you see, It’s not usually alcohol that causes people to gain weight. Instead, it's the “drunk food” they’re shoveling down with it.
– 
4️⃣ Regardless of if you follow the steps above and control your drinking, or you say screw it and go straight Frank the Tank 🍺✊️, remember that you’re always just ONE HEALTHY CHOICE from being back on track ✅

Happy Saturday y’all! Here’s my healthy (caffeine-free) @starbucks creation for the week! Ridiculously delicious and 1000% guilt free (as in no calories guilt free)! To order this custom tea you’ll ask for a peach tranquility tea steeped in a short cup. Then once it’s steeped for 5 minutes, ask for it to be poured over a trenta cup of ice and ask to pour a splash of passion tea on top. Totally delicious as is but you can add one or two stevia packets if you like your drinks a little sweeter 😉
