So quiet that you can hear ermm... a snowflake drop? 😉 After a busy day I like to sit down, cup of tea in hand, and let my thoughts roam for a bit until they quieten down little by little. What do you do after a busy day to rest and recover? #myeverydaymagic 📷 by @todd.diemer
I had another wonderful meeting with Lisa @lisa_king_consultancy this morning 😍 There’ll be some subtle, but oh so useful changes to the website coming soon. .
Here’s to the the year of ‘streamlining’ 🙌
So I took a little break from posting on Instagram for a week! But I was obviously still active on insta stories 🤷🏻♀️... who else is tired of this Baltic weather?! 🙋🏻I am looking forward to the warmer weather!! 🌝 🕶 from @bigfootwooddesigns #ad
Yesterday mum and I made gifts for her friends who have recently had babies. We used our organic cotton to make blankets, and merino for teensy beanies. It’s still summer holidays here, and my son was in the studio with us. He amused himself by poking pins through the top layers of skin on his fingers. We use to do it as kids too, did you? 🖤
Feels like a sofa night, and we would love to snuggle up here, crackling fire🔥, a good book,📖 bliss!!! What about you? What are you up to tonight? Cosy Regram @naturescollection #hyggelig#ihavethisthingforrugs#cosymoments .
• it’s snowing in Orkney! ❄️ proper plump, floating to the ground flakes, flakes that will hopefully lie and grind everything to a halt tomorrow so that schools close and we can all go outside and build snowmen ⛄️😏 i can dream and cross everything can’t I? #homeisacupoftea#onequietcup#hellojanuary#thatvelvetfeeling •
Where is the best place to work? Where can you concentrate, get things done and still be inspired by what surrounds you?
I keep asking myself, now being freelanced for almost a year. The truth is, I find it challenging (nice word for *not happy at all*)to work at home.
It’s hard to blend out all (chaos) that keeps calling at you (like dishwashers, children...) I love to disappear and just take my computer and a coffee and sit down somewhere. Even in the woods, for a while!
Any other places you can recommend, especially you freelance, homworking people? Please tell me your favourite spots, can’t wait to try them out 👩🏻💻
What happens when you desperately want some coffee BUT:
- it’s already almost bedtime - there ain’t no coffee ( not a single bean) in the house.
My lovely coffee grinder was nice enough to produce some light as a weak try to make up for coffee absence ☺️.
Friends, I had such a craving for coffee because I was looking up places in Amsterdam- yay, we are heading there in February, the coldest month!
I am sure lots of you have been to this wonderful city and if you have favorite places or suggestions please jot them down in comments, I would be endlessly grateful! I absolutely trust you more than I trust any of Google suggestions)
Have a great evening! ••••••••••••••••
All classes were canceled today for the snowstorm that never came, so I spent the morning getting a head start on homework and tried to convince myself I DON’T need to go out to do any errands. I should stay here bundled up on the couch and watch something on Netflix with my cats, right?
#feliceadesso#winterstories#esercizidibellezza#awakethelight#storieinviaggio
In love with these how these little cards for Framed Florals by @hanmade.co turned out! Excited to send them out into the world & get them in the right hands. Know of any cute shops who would want these pretty things sitting around? Send me a message! 💛
simplicity // it feels good to be doing something spontaneous and unplanned, something just because. i’ve been thinking a lot lately about the kind of work i want to be making this year. this feels like a good start
I was looking up a word in the dictionary the other day and I noticed you can get a word of the day emailed to your inbox! #nerdalert
So everyday I get the email I go over the word of the day with the kids and have Celia write it out because writing things helps to remember and I am pretty proud of myself.
I beat myself up way to much as a homeschool teacher so when something like this comes along thats easy and fun I get excited!
1.16.15-our first snow day in THREE years. in the south, we rarely get actual snow, but today we woke up to a winter wonderland. the boys are still asleep and i can’t wait for them to wake up and for us to make some memories. this snow day couldn’t have come at a better time because my husband got home last night from a week long work trip, so it’s a mandatory stay-at-home family snow day today ❄️ #dayslikethese
Raise your hand if you wish every day that your laundry would fold itself. 🙋♀️ Alas, it’s only going to happen in a movie for me! Over the years, I’ve noticed I keep hanging more and more clothes, and I think I just made the connection as to why. On the upside, I think I wear more in my closet when my clothes are hung because I can see my options more clearly. 🤔🤷♀️I’m contemplating starting a capsule wardrobe - one for work and one for home. Has anyone tried a capsule? And if so, what are your thoughts???
Wow. That’s a lot of 😁. But it’s our first real snowfall this winter so Guinness & I spent some time playing in the backyard. He’s in his glory (checkout my stories for slo-mo frolics). Happy Tuesday, friends. 🤘🏻❄️
Huge thanks to everyone who commented and messaged me, not just about my hair 💁🏻♀️ but about what you like to see from me. It seems the things you like - food, recipes, behind the scenes - is the stuff I like too so I’m going to organize myself towards that.
We’re half way through January (what!?!) and I have to admit that I have a bit of a planning hangover. I’m making things happen but I’m still in the planning space a bit too. Anyone else feeling that? Also, when it comes to plans, are you paper or digital? I’m a bit of both but I can never resist a pretty notebook or journal.
It was another gloomy morning, and right now its an end-of-the-world-mood with hail storm. I am always up for gloom in my life, but I have to say I am a bit fed up with this grey weather. At least they say it’s gonna snow the upcoming days🤞🏻.
Have a lovely Tuesday!
c o r n e r t u r n e d 🖤
Hi all! Hope you’re having a great start to the week. Thanks so much to everyone again who has given me such great, amazing advice the past couple of days. Thought I would update you...
• Test results came back all normal! I feel a weight has been lifted and I can rest my mind gently for now. I know anything can happen during pregnancy so concentrating on keeping positive is my main focus now. .
• I booked onto antenatal classes. They don’t cover hypnobirthing techniques however, so I’m still looking for online/ books or podcasts which could help. Any recommendations would be amazing 👌🏼
There was the same old story for already two weeks.
- maybe 30 more min?
- ok, sure.
The sweetest dreams are always before you wake up.
Buzz-buzz-buzz - more insistently.
- maybe 10 more minutes?
- of course.
After 10 min.
Angry whisper through the teeth:
- get this freaking vibrator out here ( I mean the fitness bracelet that buzzes every 10 min to wake your up - and this is called SMART technology;)
I hear the patting of bare feet on the cold floor and something landed on the table with not so soft of a sound.
Yeees, another ten minutes of interrupted sleep (until 8;)
It might be so hard to get out of warm bed, especially if it’s made of your favorite pages of beloved books.
What are the books that make your feel warm and get help getting through this winter?
Mine was Dandelion wine, a kids book Three funny friends: Muff, Halfshoe and Moss Beard by Eno Raud especially when they made a moss tea for cough from one of characters beard.
[Story] The village of Rollup was an unusual place. For many years the two houses in the village had been lived in by Sergé, a former “strongman” in the circus who lived with Misty Lee his wife who was a fortune teller. The other houses occupants were Gene who had worked on the dodgems and Martha who ran the “hook a duck” stall on the fairground. Together they all ran a home for things retiring from circus or fairground life. They had a paddock full of fairground horses who, now free from the restraints of their poles could gallop up and down although it often took them a few months to get out of the habit of going round and round. They had a huge pond which was home to retired goldfish who had not been won on one of the many stalls that used to have fish as prizes. There was a garage repairing dodgem cars which were then reconditioned into mobility scooters for elderly retired circus people to get about on. They lived quite well on a diet of candy floss, nougat and coconuts and sticky lollies and fizzy drinks. Nobody had terribly good teeth. All was peaceful and calm until one day when an old circus acquaintance turned up in the village on his unicycle with bucket of glitter, squirty water flower brooch and a glint in his eye....... *to be continued * #libertyopencall#potter#capturemycraft#thatauthenticfeeling#thesincerestoryteller#littlestoriesofmylife#livethelittlethings#ceramichouses#raku#rakuhouse#nothingisordinary#fairground#ofquietmoments#theartofslowliving#storiestotell#thatsdarling#inspiremyinstagram#tinytinymoments
FOREST BATHING | the medicine of simply being in the forest. Shinrin-yoku is a term that means "taking in the forest atmosphere" or "forest bathing." It is the practice of taking a short, leisurely visit to a forest for health benefits.
