Pregnancy hunger is hitting big time! Yes, I have been trying (and craving) mostly raw foods recently and feeling a lot of their benefits (energy, glowing skin, fantastic digestion) BUT...This preggo mama is getting HUNGRYYY and I'm finding that I don't know how to keep up with raw foods (especially as we approach Winter in Canada). Sooo, thankfully there are delicious and well priced sushi buffets, Indian takeout and Italian paninis in our area 😂! I have explored all of these for the past three days...Tonight I finally felt like some home cooking and @vitalypadalets helped me cook up this absolutely delicious French 'lentil' stew with cashew cream and Swiss chard from the @ohsheglows everyday cookbook. I made it with mung beans instead of lentils because that's what's we had on hand and it turned out sooo well. I just might go for more now...I think my family enjoys my cooking/rawing/cravings adventures! They never know what to expect and seem to be OK with that (it's a good thing Léya eats nearly everything). Luckily our diet always has lots of veggies, fruits and healthy fats from coconuts and nuts so we should be well fed even through these adventures ;) 💪👌🌱.

Chickpea Melt! Seriously DELICIOUS. After ever bite I thought "I love this sandwich!!!" Oh She Glows Cookbook has an amazing chickpea salad recipe. I have made it so many times I don't look at the recipe, I just do what feels and tastes right. This was a close interpretation of that recipe.
For Chickpea Salad:
1 can chickpeas, mashed
1/2 finely diced yellow onion
2 minced garlic cloves
1 celery stalk chopped finely
1 carrot, grated
2 tbsp veganaise
Mustard, to taste
Juice from lemon wedge
Black pepper, to taste
Salt, to taste
Cayenne pepper, to taste
Two slices of tasty bread
Small amount of mustard
Vegan cheese shreds
- Add 1/2 tsp Earth Balance to hot pan, allow to sizzle. Add sandwich and heat on both sides until lightly browned and cheese melts.

•Cell phone "time outs"- your kids will appreciate your sacred attention.
•Helping others through hardships shows them devotion to humanity- make sure they know how abundant their lives are-so get them involved in volunteering, donating and fundraising. "Hard work to help others builds hard workers."
•Always have a healthy POSITIVE relationship with food and exercise- or if you struggle with that, do your best in front of them.(That works just as well until the mind fully shifts to that space)

Here this “Cheese Sauce” was made from mostly potato’s, carrots and soaked cashews 🤗 Then add all the spice and flavoring... Seriously you guys this is SO good with nachos. It barely made the mason jars haha. She also has an alternative by using this for Mac and Cheese, what a great thing for the kids.
I woke up this morning feeling like I’m fighting something off. So, I snoozed the alarm and made my go-to detox: Potion, as I call it! Courtesy of @ohsheglows, this drink warms me up, soothes my stomach, fights inflammation, and will hopefully rid me of whatever is trying to take me down 🤧💪🏼

@ohsheglows is such a great resource for vegan recipes - many of which are gluten-free as well. These Vanilla Blueberry Buckwheat Pancakes check both of those boxes. We were late bloomers when it came to baking with buckwheat but it’s always stocked in the pantry now.

Ok so my Husband agrees with me here. This is possibly one of the most delicious meals I’ve ever eaten... ever! It’s a sad day for many Canadians, losing Gord Downie from The Hip, so I wanted to make something soothing for the soul. Well this vegan Shepard’s pie is one of the most soul soothing meals. I topped it with mushroom gravy.
