"October 26, 2017" abstraction
This piece was also done for a friend near and dear to my heart, @eden_rc. It was built up of layers indicative of the growth and change we have experienced, both individually and together, over time from our more formative years to the present. Embedded in the overall warmth of this growth are tones of darkness and cold, abysmal saturation that lends itself to the cohesiveness of the work's spiral finality, the rather didactic vortex the piece somehow found itself becoming. These intersecting and competing layers of inviting warmth and dissonant cool darkness created a fitting conceptual playground in which to visually transcribe some of the weight of this relationship's growth; what it has taught me about the world, about myself, and about how much I have truly come to love and appreciate her.
Using the-worlds-tiniest-brush i remade VanGogh's starry night! In this new series I was greatly inspired by all the masterpieces i have seen during my travels. This one hangs at Moma in NYC. I stumbled upon it three weeks ago, with the bright colours, swift strokes which almost seem to move. It makes me so happy! What a masterpiece! Stay tuned for the next in the series..... Do you have a favorite artwork? Let me know & the person with the best idea can win their own tiny masterpiece!
