After the Gornergrat, we decided to hike. As time (and my fitness) didn't permit, this meant taking another train up to Sunnegga, and taking another gondola up to Blauherd, then hiking down. Weather wasn't really on my side (at least for picture taking) since it was overcast for most of the hike. The views remained as spectacular of course, and we begun our 9.3km journey looking for the five lakes, ascending 286m and descending 575m during the hike.
The five lakes were: Stellisee, which was where we stopped for our packed lunch, Grindjisee, Grunsee , Moosjisee - which was nearly empty as I believe it is actually a reservoir that serves the village and maintenance work looked to be going on, and lastly Leisee.
