One of the best herbs to cook with beans, adding flavor and rendering them more digestible. ✨ I used to harvest it wild along the Yuba. The scent is so intense and specific, kind of like creosote. #epazote#alldaylong
Vegetarian vs Non-Vegetarian Diet
A controversial topic and particularly pertinent in today’s society with the rise in popularity of both vegetarian and vegan diets.
To help provide some insight into which diet provides greater health benefits, a recent study found no significant difference in all-cause mortality. Additionally, there were no significant differences in risk of mortality between pesco-vegetarians, semi-vegetarians and meat eaters.
Health is multifactorial and more than just a diet.
It is true that this goes against some previous research. However, previous studies illustrating beneficial health effects associated with a vegetarian diet are often compounded by confounding variables relating to health-seeking behaviours such as higher levels of physical activity and lower prevalence of both smoking and excessive alcohol consumption. In reality, vegetarians typically engage in healthier lifestyle factors compared with their non-vegetarian counterparts.
Take-home message: regardless of the diet you choose, be sure to consume plenty of whole, nutrient dense foods (i.e. vegetables) and adopt lifestyle characteristics that include regular physical activity and enjoyment of food whilst leading you to maintain a healthy body weight range.
Wild Boar - Not really a fancy subject for wildlife photographers however they have a very important role to play for the forest ecosystem.
The wild boar is a bulky, massively built suid with short and relatively thin legs, one of the widest-ranging mammals in the world, as well as the most widely spread suiform. It has a long history of association with humans, having been the ancestor of most domestic pig breeds and a big-game animal for millennia.
The wild boar is a highly versatile omnivore, whose diversity in choice of food rivals that of humans ---------------------------------------------------- Shot in May 2017, - #tadobaandharitigerreserve#mammal#wildboar#pig#swine#naturephotography#wildlifeofindia#wildlifephotography#tadobanationalpark#wilderness#omnivore#survivor
--- There are a few misconceptions I'd like to shatter right off the bat:
• • • • •
🌺1) Weight doesn't always translate as you think-- I'm heavier now than I was 5 years ago, yet 5 years ago I was 3-4 pants sizes LARGER-- muscle is strapped down tightly. Fat sits like bubble wrap. See? You cannot compare weight to health, it doesn't work that way and it's not fair to your mental image so stop beating yourself up. Better yet? THROW YOUR SCALE OUT!! I've never needed one when my FEELINGS of health are a perfect indication of where I need to be.
• • • • 🌻2) You do not "need" animals to survive. In fact, most animal meats and byproducts on the market in your local store are chock-full of poison, ammonia washes, and chemicals. The best thing you can do for yourself and your health is to switch to a plant based lifestyle, IMMEDIATELY. 🚫🐄🐓😝😣➡➡🌱🍃🐝
• • • • 🌷3) 6 small meals a day? Bulk-shred-carb-macro-WHAT??? Let's keep it simple-- intermittent fasting is the most AFFORDABLE meal plan you can accustom your body to, and the best NATURAL cleansing method to give your body what it needs to power through the day and burn fat at its natural metabolic rate. Not sure? GOOGLE IS FREE--YAY!🤗💻🤓📈📊
• • • • 🌹4) No one (unless you're a track star) enjoys running on a treadmill indoors without a view like a gerbil on a wheel.🙈💃 The best way to stay engaged is to find ways to make Fitness fun. We live in a wonderful world with dance classes and aerobics classes and yoga and outdoor activities... No one said you have to get your exercise by going to the gym! So-- a little time on your hands exploring what feels happy and good *TO YOU* is the best indication to keep yourself motivated; I don't have a workout partner but I don't use that as an excuse to lose sight of my fitness goals.💪✌🏋⛹🏃🏄

I made an ALL VEGAN dinner for my #omnivore parents the other night and my dad is a bacon cheeseburger lover. Therefore trying to introduce plant based substitutes to him proves to be slightly difficult at times because he has grown up on beef. Haven't most of us?
ANYWAYS-I made them burgers with @beyondmeat patties that I've become OBSESSED with. Seriously the Best beef substitute without the cruelty or cholesterol. ..... #winning
Then I added @fieldroast Chao cheese another new fave
And @fyhmarketcafe #vegenaise that literally tastes identical to Mayo-another one of my dad's staples.
I made homemade fries seasoned w Himalayan sea salt and Paprika and used @fyhmarketcafe Thousand Island -SO GOOD tastes like In N Out Sauce
And for dessert I baked up some cinnamon sugar apple fritters 🍎
We also had salad not pictured but the creamy garlic dressing also from @fyhmarketcafe is DIVINE I'm in love.
Definitely will be making this dinner more often.
I am SO PROUD of my parents for being willing to try new things simply because I've been talking about the benefits so much.
If THEY can do it, anyone can.
To anyone that thinks being vegan is hard or gross, I dare you to try substituting one meal. Even start with one in ingredient in a meal.
IE swap vegan mayo for the other stuff.
You may be surprised 😊
So Much Love to you ALL!!! #veganism#itsaboutrespectforALL
#fozdoiguaçu#Brazil#toucant#omnivore#fruitloops#toucantango This meddlesome fellow was raising a ruckus sticking his beak into smaller birds nest to eat their eggs....they all ganged up on him and convinced him to leave . Toucans also eat small birds and lizards...who knew? They look so innocent!
Unquestionably, one of the rarest apex predator fossils skulls we have seen of the European Ice Age megafauna, this "holy grail" fossil is available for purchase now on our website (see profile). This Ursus arctos (European Brown Bear) fossil skull was retrieved at a depth of 23 meters below the surface by a river gravel dredge in Central Europe, simultaneously collected with Megaloceros, Woolly Mammoth and Woolly Rhinoceros fossils. It was found as shown with all orginal dentition and has not been repaired or restored in any way. @paleodirect
The dangerous popular celebrities of Europes final Ice Age are the Cave Lion, Cave Hyena and Cave Bear but what most do not realize is that there was a fourth danger if you were human - Ursus arctos. The Brown Bear shared the same notoriety as being one beast to avoid if you wanted to stay alive in prehistory. Ursus arctos went on to survive into the Holocene but the fossils are so rare, even in museums, that the general public overlooks this deadly apex predator of the European Pleistocene.
😠*PETA's most recent leather investigation revealed that JBS S.A., the world's largest leather processor, brands calves on the face and electroshocks and beats gentle cows and bulls before turning them into leather goods.*🚫🌐💀😣
---Such horrific treatment of cows used for leather doesn't just occur on Brazilian cattle ranches. The abuse is standard industry practice and is consistent with what we expose every time we look at the leather industry, whether in Bangladesh, China, India, or even the United States. A PETA video exposé in China revealed that even dogs are being bludgeoned and killed so that their skin can be turned into leather accessories sold around the world. No matter where it comes from, leather is a product of cruelty, yet retailer H&M continues to sell it.
Leather also takes a huge toll on the environment, which H&M claims to take seriously. But the company continues to sell leather despite knowing that animal agriculture is the single greatest contributor to the greenhouse gases that cause climate change, as well as the source of a host of pollutants that are wreaking havoc on the planet.
🚫🙌✌ Sign the petition and ask H&M to stop funding blatant animal cruelty:
I myself decided to go one step further and leave a comment on their Facebook page. No effort is too small! SPEAK UP-- nothing will change if we do not.

Yep, I have emotions. Not a robot. 🤦🏻♀️ (Just deleted and reshared this with this guy's name covered up. I realized I was being a jerk for putting his name out there like that. Is don't want to be a cyber bully)! @drswetacoach
