#Whole30 day 20 and all is well. I’ve noticed a few non-scale victories like clear sinuses, deep sleep and I just feel clear in my head. I have more focus which is a bonus too 😊 I’ve just posted a Whole30 recipe roundup on the blog (link in bio) and a link to this Caesar Salad from @nocrumbsleft. I need you to know, this salad is life affirming. 🙏🏼 Please make the dressing you will be so pleased with your self 💪🏼☺️ 👏🏻. Enjoy 😘
#omnivore I've been trying to learn a lot more about different foods. Where it's sourced, how it's made and what it does for our bodies. I feel so much better knowing more about my food and how effects my body but I still have a lot to learn. It's so important now while alekai is learning about food and developing his own eating habits.
So, I am often asked do I agree with Lions eating Gazelles. 😳 of course I do - it sucks for the Gazelle but they are natural prey for an obligate carnivore like the Lion. And then sometimes I am told that humans (homo sapiens and all of their ancient relatives like Homo erectus and Neanderthol) have always eaten meat for ever and ever (which isn't true but that is a different conversation). If you look at pure Physiology we are most similar to Herbivores (not ruminant or fermenting per se but overall physiology). .
"A carnivores or omnivores small intestine is three to six times the length of its trunk. This is a tool designed for rapid elimination of food that rots quickly. Mans, as well as other herbivores small intestines are 10 to 12 times the length of their body, and winds itself back and forth in random directions." Additionally Carnivores have stomach acidity up to 20X that of herbivores (Including humans). So... Yeh plus we don't have claws and razor sharp fangs etc.

Red Lentil Potato Soup - Made up this recipe up on a whim. First thing my lovely wife says to me is "I could eat this every day." Ok now to remember how I made it. Saute two diced red potatoes, 1 pound lentles and 1/2 diced onion in vegetable broth. Cook on medium until tender. Add more vegetable soup and mash the potatoes to make a creamy broth. (Chunks are ok) add 1tbsp cumin, 2 tsp minced garlic, 2 tsp black pepper, 1 tsp smoked paprika and 1 can fire roasted diced tomatoes. Oh and add some leftover garbonza beans if you have them. Bring to bubbly simmer, then add 2 small diced bok choy. Heat until bok choy is cooked and serve. Enjoy.
