My November OMG! I need to make something with these Joy of Christmas Row Quilt Blocks. It is part of Kaaren B’s block of the month at the Simcoe library. I thought I had made a few more. Yikes. Done in batiks and I see 3 sets are off white and the big ones are white. My goal this month is to get a top done with these and possibly get it finished to donate at the December meeting of the Norfolk County Quilters’ Guild. I am away for this week and it is already the 7th and I haven’t started. Wish me luck!
October OMG done! 20” table topper Lone Star done with 3 batik fat quarters and some gold yardage. Cut with AccuQuilt 2.5” strip die. With bias scrappy binding. I have enough fabric remaining for a second one. This will be donated to the Norfolk County Quilters Guild for their tombola at the show next May. @elmstreetquilts #onemonthlygoal#twilightquiltersguild
So I didn’t get this baby quilt quilted last month so it will be my October #onemonthlygoal . I will drop it off at the longarm quilter tomorrow. The baby was born a couple days ago so I really need to get it finished and in the mail. Read about the #onemonthlygoal on the blog of @elmstreetquilts
Purchased some flannel today. Whales and elephants for burp cloths and owls and owls, foxes, raccoons and rabbits for receiving blankets. @elmstreetquilts #onemonthlygoal These will be for shower November 4.
My October OMG. “One Monthly Goal” to finish this Lone Star table-topper. About 20” square and made to demo my favourite technique with the AccuQuilt strip cutter that our local library now has. Just 3 fat quarters and some background might get me 2 of these. Run your strip sets through on the 45° angle line. Perfectly cut star blades. And with bias strip binding. This will be a demo piece at our Twilight Quilters Guild meeting. I have a short time for this as I will be away from 11th to 25th. @elmstreetquilts #onemonthlygoal#accuquilt#twilightquiltguild
My September OMG finish. I wanted to get this Tumbling 4-patch quilt in Kaffe Fassett fabrics done but I also secretly wanted to also finish another Kaffe design as well. And I have both finished with days to spare! The 2.5” squares in the first one were cut at a Kaffe Workshop at the Missouri Star Quilt Co 2 years ago. The second one used one of my first quilt fabric purchases. A Kaffe jelly roll and a blue one done in the Summer in the Park design. These tops have been together for a couple years. It feels great to have these UFOs done. #onemonthlygoal
My OMG (One Monthly Goal) for September. Finish this quilt. Made from squares I cut at a Missouri Star Quilt Co workshop with Kaffe Fassett. 2 bucket list things in one go. I made 4-patches and then did a simple falling charms layout. @elmstreetquilts #onemonthlygoal
I finished with only hours to spare! 2 quilt tops quilted and bound. Both were cut using my AccuQuilt Go cutter. The teal HSTs were cut out at a guild meeting to demonstrate how easy and accurately the AccuQuilt cutter is. The Lonestar was an experiment to see how easily you can cut strip sets on a 45° angle. I can see more Lonestars in my future. Each one with bigger rays than the next. #onemonthlygoal @elmstreetquilts #accuquilt#accuquilt
"That Quirky Scrap Quilt" done! This was so much fun to piece, I want to make another right away. The pattern is by @sewnbyleila
This was my #onemonthlygoal for August and is the largest thing I've ever quilted. For the binding I tried something I found in a magazine called "scrap rolls". The author Carla Haake suggests that you match up all your scraps from a certain width, sew them in a long piece them roll them up for future use. I love it!
Yeah I know this style isn't everyone's favorite, but I love it so I'm keeping this one. Each of these fabrics is from a project I enjoyed making.

Borders on my AccuQuilt Lonestar Quilt. I used 3 more fat quarters to make partial stars so this quilt would be more of a throw than a square. Lonestars are so easy using the 2.5" strip cutter to cut the strips. Sew 2 strips together and then put them through the strip cutter again on the 45° line and you have instant diamonds. Making great progress on one of my One Monthly Goal projects. #onemonthlygoal
This is my #omg for August. This bag of scraps will magically become #thatquirkyscrapquilt that @sewnbyleila has on her blog. I don't think I can produce a finished quilt by the end of August, but my goal is for a flimsy
My One Monthly Goal for August is to finish these 2 tops. Both were made using my AccuQuilt Go Big cutter. I wanted to try a Lonestar, cutting the strip sets on the diagonal on the 2.5" strip cutter. I used 5 FQs and made 3 colour strip sets. Fun and easy. I learned this technique from Kim Einmo this winter at Quilting By the Bay in Panama City Beach Florida. I have more FQs that coordinate so I will be adding another border. And I can't wait to make another larger Lonestar. The second quilt used AccuQuilt HSTs cut during a demo at the Norfolk County Quilters Guild. I had a bagful of coordinating fabrics from the comfort quilt program and just cut a bunch of HSTs. The hardest part was finding a layout for the assorted squares. I might add a border also and use some of the cut HSTs in the backing. Will be a bit of a push for the month as there will be granddaughters around for most of the month and we have some crafty plans. #onemonthlygoal @elmstreetquilts @accuquilt @keinmo
My first OMG goal done! Part of the Twilight Quilters' Guild Black and White and a Pop of Colour fat quarter exchange last September. Equilateral triangles cut with the AccuQuilt Go Cutter that I share with my sister. Walking foot quilting with 40wt black #onemonthlygoal @elmstreetquilts
A modest #onemonthlygoal for July is to finish up this #quiltcollage I started in a Susan Carlson class last week. I need to do a bit more gluing, then quilt and bind. Should be doable, but this is July in Montana.... @elmstreetquilts
I've decided on my #onemonthlygoal for July. I am going to complete this #newyorkbeautiesandflyinggeese mini for a guild challenge. The plan is to add borders, make a backing, quilt and bind. Between vacations this month I'm not going to have a lot of time so I needed a smaller project and I really need to start checking off some of my unfinished projects. I am going to jump in my first time for One Monthly Goal. I have been mulling over resurrecting my blog. I used it from 2005 until 2010, mostly to document our travels. But Instagram is easier! In July I would like to finish this Black, White and a pop of Colour Quilt. 55" x 72"" without borders. A Challenge for the Twilight Quilters Guild. Normally this wouldn't be a monthly challenge, but it is time to start booking the programs for the guild for the next year and that will use up a lot time.
