3 months Plant Based. Saved a bunch of Chickens 🐔 Fish 🐟 cows 🐮 and more importantly helped with the environment and world we live in 🌎 not gonna lie, I looovvveee BodyBuilding more than anything, and yes I'm still able to do it but not at the level to compete to be my best. Going to give myself another 9 months and if I still want to be an elite athlete in the sport, going to go back to animal proteins but give myself 5 years to become a top athlete and compete as long as I can then I can always go back. Life is about a plan and WORKING for that plan. For Some reason people think they can want something and get it just because they want it, you HAVE TO HUSTLE FOR IT. I don't have the genes, but I'll work like I do. I don't have the time, but I'll make the time. I don't have the money, but I work to have enough to get me by. As cliche as it sounds, excuses get you nowhere. Dream, work, embrace the suck, reap the rewards.

Have you ever had thoughts or feelings but never recognized them or brought them to the surface to be talked about? .
I did today. I talked to someone I've never met before, but she helped me bring those thoughts and fears out. She helped me recognize my strengths. She helped me recognize that I am more than I think I am. .
My struggle with confidence goes further than how I feel in my clothes & skin. It plays a part in my daily routine every day. But today, I know not to be afraid of those thoughts or fears if I lead with passion. Which is something that I've lacked because I've been afraid of rejection or what people think. .
Thank you Debbie, for talking to me, and helping me step up a more fitting schedule into my crazy life!

This afternoon I went into the gym without a plan, which is SO not like me.
I decided ahead of time I would just do whatever I felt like doing when I got there, and honestly it was super refreshing and a lot of fun!
It definitely made me more motivated and I pushed a lot harder than usual because I only did exercises I ENJOY.

Workout today was a PLEASURE. Aka 💦😷💩☠ Legs and back galore! See below for full workout! Swipe through for videos. I'm not feeling particularly motivated this week. Both my workout yesterday and today I had to trick myself into doing by telling myself I only had to do 10 minutes. And wouldn't ya know it, after 10 minutes went by I was much more willing to keep working out! So I did! We all suffer from that activation energy lapse, sometimes the hardest part is just starting! When it comes to working out the best thing to do is just get that first 5-10 minutes under your belt and everything after that will be much easier!

🎠Warm-up = 10 min on treadmill. 30 sec walk, 30 sec fast run. Incline at 5.

Every single chance I get, this is where you will find me.  Well, here or in the car, bedroom, kitchen, patio, and yes, even the bathroom.  Wherever there is wifi, I work.  Why? Because I LOVE IT!

I love it because as a stay at home mom, I lost who I was.  I became consumed with the role of mother, wife and ultimately caretaker to my disabled child.  I was not Lisa anymore.  When I started to take care of myself and feel better, my gut reaction was to pay it forward and let other people know that they could do it to.  And that opened the door to coaching for me.

Had I not said yes to this opportunity, I probably would have suffered another depression, probably would have fallen off track fitness wise, and definitely would not be contributing to the family income.  But because I DID say yes, I am almost back to my fittest, I feel a sense of self worth, and I am able to get the kids the clothing, shoes, little extras with MY money that I earned.  And that feels AMAZING.

I am currently looking to mentor 3 women that want to join my team.  You need heart, the desire to be successful, ability to work independently and most importantly, the desire to want to change people’s lives!  Full training is provided.

Ive been spending some time on scapula elevation, hence the #trap work. It's NOT "trap or shoulder day". I very rarely program "back day" "chest day" "shoulder day" etc. Or whatever, This is sub-optimal for almost every client I have including 99% of my competitors (I have a few exceptions) Rather, I set up their training programs based on what is needed, their #goals and what they are capable of. When you get caught with your thinking face on 😂 no study sesh is complete without some starbs and a delicious protein shake just in case I get hungry. Cause ya girl is hungry today! I always seem to be running short on my protein so having a good clean powder is a MUST for me. I have tried so many different brands of protein powders but I think I'll stick with this one 🤗. I have major bloatage issues and this has been the only protein powder that hasn't caused me any! The gut gods hit this with the magic touch! My last post on "how to speed up fat loss" went over well, so I wanted to do the same for when you're trying to gain muscle. If you haven't checked out that post, literally almost all of those can also be used in addition to this list, too.

🔹I think many people like to say gaining muscle or losing fat comes down to your nutrition and it's "80% nutrition, 20% training". I'd say finding an exact percentage is arbitrary, but when it comes to gaining muscle, I would almost certainly place your training higher than your nutrition.

🔹You can eat the perfect diet but if you don't lift weights, you will not gain muscle. The reverse, for fat loss, is not true. You can lose fat sans lifting. So I think you want to REALLY emphasize pushing hard in the gym and lifting intelligently in order to maximize your rate of muscle gain.

🔹Don't get me wrong, if you're eating like a hamster, you're not going to build much, if any muscle. When it comes to nutrition for gaining muscle, you really want to emphasize your protein and calorie intake. Plan on eating more calories and protein "sandwiching" your workout and make sure to spread it out by at least 4 meals (or 4 protein feedings). Do NOT be afraid to eat a lot before bed as long as it doesn't interfere with your sleep.

✅If you could focus on any of these, it should be the following: lifting 2-6 times per week, tracking your food/workouts, and eating in a calorie surplus. Do those CONSISTENTLY for 6 months and I promise you'll have made some gainz.

Here we go, final meal of the day and as always I finish on a high protein, low carb, low fat meal. This isn't for any reason specifically, just that as I trained first thing this morning and I base most of my carbs around my workout they were used up earlier in the day. Meaning that my evening meal had to be high in protein, but yet still satiating as I can't sleep when I'm hungry.

Salad (I don't track green veg or salads as Iv never known anyone who didn't lose the weight they wanted because of too much fibrous vegetables)

By simply going through this exercise with me, you will start to find many of the answers and solutions to falling in to love with what you do and deepening your profession purpose. .

🍳I want to add a slight caveat before I go into more detail on what this post is describing. I am a BIG believer that skipping breakfast is the most powerful and simple change you can make to your daily routine that will have an array of health and weight loss benefits for you and your body.

🥞With that said, I understand that it doesn't suit everyone and so here are a few other options for you to try if you have tried skipping breakfast and can't make it work for you.

🥙SKIP LUNCH: It will be difficult to have a long enough FAST period between breakfast and dinner to gain the benefits from fasting. However, if weight loss is your main goal, removing your midday meal could help to reduce your calories enough to see you lose weight.

🍔SKIP DINNER: This can be just as effective as skipping breakfast in achieving a 16-20 hour fasting window. The reason this approach can be difficult long term though, is because soo many of our social gatherings are centred around dinner. Use this method from time to time, however, I would steer clear of this as a permanent approach.

🌯1 MEAL DAY: I will admit, I have been experimenting with this approach over the last few weeks by adopting it once a week. At first it was quite difficult, but now I find it quite easy to go the entire day without food. Apart from a little hunger around 4pm, I feel great! This method can be very effective if you are looking for a simple approach to weight loss as well as gaining all the benefits from fasting.

Some Muscle Building Tips ✅
#
- Start with a good foundation. If you're not sure whether to pack on mass or get lean first, opt for the latter. The leaner you are to start off with the more productive you'll be 👍
#
- I'd opt for a more cyclical approach to bulking. 
Push food up, push loads up in the gym & focus on small incremental increases in bodyweight until body fat starts to come on too quickly or BF% gets to high before then pulling back for a short period of time.
#
(For example, 16-20 weeks emphasis on pushing up food and bodyweight up 👆followed by a 6-8 week re-comp/tidy up phase, repeat. 📈 (Again just a rough guide and will depend on the individual.)
#
- I'll now always opt to stay much leaner in a muscle building phase, more bodyweight  doesn't equal more muscle mass and dieting back down again from 15kg + above from where you need to be is:
#
A) Really hard and sucks 😅
B) Means you'll have to diet down even harder which means you'll be putting yourself into a position of potentially losing more muscle tissue. 
#
- The longer you've been training and the more experienced you are the more the SMALLER details matter (0.5kg increases on weights, 1 extra rep/tracking & logging all weights etc.)
#
- Master training execution and then overload. There's no point increasing the weight if you don't have stability, control or the ability to recruit the muscle groups you're trying to target. 
#
- Train muscle groups more frequently, I'd personally opt for every 48/72 hours & focus more on stimulation and not annihilation.
#
- Optimise the training window to push and maximise food intake. Potential for greater performance, recovery and utilisation ✅
#
- Invest in the long game, invest in the process and give yourself enough time to make improvements 👍

The best lesson I’ve learned to date from a mentor of mine was - your business will be successful once you play to your strengths, and know + respect how you best like to work.

Here’s what she meant..

If you hate doing one on one work - don’t. Run a course.

If you hate giving meal planning tips + recipes all the time - don’t. Show your clients where to find that info and offer a service that doesn’t involve that.
.
If you hate recording vlogs for Youtube but were told you have to to be successful - don’t. Find another way to get noticed.
.
The more TRUE YOU ARE to yourself - the happier and more excited you will be to do the work and put in the hours, sweat, blood (jk but not really) an tears it takes to build a business. If you’re doing something that feels uncomfortable or inauthentic to you, it’s a recipe for disaster, both for you AND your clients.

When I first started out in my biz, I thought I needed to offer one on one accountability coaching, give out recipes, meal plans, workout videos, vlogs, etc. in order to be successful. It was literally the weirdest struggle - because I actually hated doing all of that and it bored me to tears. I didn’t understand that the more true to myself I was and what I really wanted to do/how I wanted to do it.. the more successful I would be.

So here’s the bottom line - if you’re trying to start a biz in this crazy fitness world, THERE’S MORE THAN ONE WAY TO DO IT. Get creative, talk to your audience, figure out what they’re struggling with and how YOU can uniquely solve their problems for them without offering the same damn thing that every other fitspo out there is offering.

The first picture was taken in either 2006 or 2007.  I was a mother of one, a smoker, not a clean eater, like at all. I was miserable being trapped at home with a child with disabilities.  I wore a full face of makeup everyday to hide behind my flaws and insecurities.

Picture on the right was taken last month. A non smoker, clean eater, and wine drinker 😂. I am now a mother of 3 with far more stress. I wear mascara, brows and bronzer because I have nothing to hide behind.
.
I am also completely confident in who I am - definitely not something I can say about me in the before. I credit that to the mental and physical changes that go along with the consistency of my health and fitness journey.  Good old clean eating and exercise. I feel younger, feel healthier, and most of all, feel happier.
