Lanikai Beach, Hawaii on a perfect day. Whenever you visit Oahu, driving over to the Windward side to Kailua and spending some time strolling along the soft and curvy shore of Lanikai Beach is always a treat. And those twin islands Na Mokulua, are just so beautiful and inviting you want to throw all that stuff that you always carry with you down onto the sand, and jump in the water, and start swimming towards them with your close still on. They say that you are only allowed to swim ashore on the larger one Moku Nui, and stay only on the beach because most of its inland area is a seabird sanctuary and thus off limits to visitors. The smaller island, Moku Iki is also a seabird sanctuary and totally off limits. People like to kayak around the islands and vessels pulled up on the beach of Moku Nui are often visible from the shore of Lanikai. People have occasionally observed endangered monk seals taking a nap on the islands beach, and it visiting the tiny island just seems to be the very perfect spot for an afternoon adventure. The ocean is really calm and safe here due to an outer reef that protects from the larger waves, but if swimming that far is not your thing, you could always kayak or perhaps borrow one of those classic and colorful outrigger canoes parked so plentiful on the shore. But even if you decide that swimming is not your thing, you can always decide to just float about in the shallow water on that giant pineapple shaped inflatable raft you had saved for that perfect beach day and snap pictures of the pretty view to share with your loved ones at home. Hope your week is going great so far. Have a happy Aloha Friday. #maui#oahu#lanikai#beach#island#islandlife#islandliving#vacation#explore#travel#travelgram#hawaii#lethawaiihappen#luckywelivehi#epic#epic_captures#igers#ig_oahu#ig_captures#ig_color#alohafriday#glimpseofhawaii#hawaiishoots#onlyinhawaii#gohawaii#visithawaii#hawaiitag#hawaiistagram#happyplace#landscapephotography
