When you are on the west side of the Rio Grande River headed south, the magic from our Watermelon Mountains seems to just multiply and the view from @hyattregencytamaya is no exception. #onlyinnewmexico
Yesterday we were out exploring our #publiclands here in northern #newmexico with @drlilapetitt and @nmvisions_bykathrynahayden . As Trump’s Secretary of the Interior works to turn our public lands over to private corporations, let’s remember why this places are important. First, They provide a place for all Americans — not just the wealthy few — to play. Second, they are part of national heritage and our rights as citizens of this nation. Third, they provide clean air and water and other ecosystem services that are worth trillions to the economy. AND recreation is a key part of western economies so these lands provide jobs and incomes. These are just a few of the many reasons public lands must remain in public hands. #firezinke
