One of the reasons people love to read is that there's never an end to the adventures, people, or surprises for us. I recently received a new read by an author I'd never heard of for one of my online book clubs. Wait, what? This is her ninth book? Visited my General Fiction section and sure enough, there were four from this author. Who knew? Not me. Yes, Paper & Ink sells a lot of James Patterson and Nora Roberts. But there are also so many authors without the same level of name recognition who have worked hard without as much of the hoopla. Art can unite us and I look forward to learning what @Joshilyn_Jackson brings to the conversation.
Bless @rachkincaid for preaching about the reset button. I'm hitting that button right now. Rach always says it's never too late to hit the reset button on your day and approach it from a more positive place. With a cloudy day, a baby on strike against naps today, and mama in a weird funk struggling to get some unfun to-dos off her list, we're calling a do-over right now at 3 pm! On a walk to think and pray and mull and then we're choosing joy and gratitude the rest of the day! (Because honestly when I think about I don't even have a very good reason for why I'm just in a bit of a weird mood. All the more reason to snap out of it. 😉) Do you need a reset today, friend? You're allowed. Go ahead and count to 3 and decide you will choose joy when you get to 3! It works!!

I try to paint every day even if I don't have a lot of time. I feel better if I do something. Two work habits which might sound peculiar: 1. I use an egg timer, the ladybird shown here is my favorite. 2. I listen to music on repeat which makes my husband crazy but helps me concentrate. What are your work habits? Do tell...
Good evening guys 🙋🏼♂️
I know this is not the greatest photo but should give you a message ☝🏻
Maybe you recognized that I don't really post much things on Fridays. This is related to the long day of lessons. Today I had my last day of lessons and take this picture and caption as a part of my message where you should rest yourself with some music, a book, sports or whatever you like to do 😋 it's better to go one hour with 100% than 10 hours with 10%. Your body and your brain need the break and full of powers 🔋 you can do much more with much more fun (yes law can be great if you're not sleepless since many days and don't over stress yourself)
Have a nice evening and a productive but relaxing weekend! 💪🏻
Dear @thedaiquiridiaries, here is how your fabulous 📦 made me feel ........
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like a room without a roof
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you know what happiness is to you
Because I'm happy
Clap along if you feel like that's what you wanna do

I can't complain about studying when my desk looks this pretty 💁🏼.
Had a tough week with my Master's this week and was so close to giving up! But thankfully I have amazing people around me who are giving me amazing support to help get me through the next three months while I also work full time 🙌🏻 Always ask people for advice - you don't have to take it, but getting another perspective is super valuable and will help broaden your thinking. May sound simple but it's easy to try and make decisions by yourself for fear of looking weak. I promise you it won't!
| At the moment a part of my creative time is wasted for searching. Especially for stamps and I have so many of @papierprojekt. I needed a new system. The idea of @loves_paper with the Washi-Tape: I like it ... so I almost stole it 🙈. Now I just have to think about the storage, because new stamps will soon be added to it. 🤣

Friday workspace.✨//New York City🇺🇸
Currently picking the last class for my last semester of college.😮Its been a fun two years splitting my week b/w online school and working at a digital agency but I can't wait to be done!!🙃💻Happy Friday!✨
Hey there, #fridayintroductions ! This is me — the face behind the studio generally designing + meeting with my wonderful clients in this local coffee shop @publikcoffee.
Instead of the usual list of facts, I want to know more about you! What's your typical drink order at a coffee shop?
Friday? Is that what today is? #mombrain , am I right? Let's do some #fridayintroductions --2 truths + 1 lie style. Comment and tell me which one you think is NOT true. (Also, I would love to play along if YOU want to post 2 truths + 1 lie about yourself.) 1. I know how to yodel.
2. I used to exhibit pet ferrets at the county fair.
3. I once won a trip to Disney World.
1, 2, or 3--Which one do you think is the lie? 😉 Sadly, at least 2 of these are true, which means I'm definitely a weirdo. 🤔 Tell me something random about yourself that most people don't know!
Other less random facts about me:
1. I'm a classic, type A, driven oldest child.
2. I used to make to-do lists for my summer vacations, even in grade school.
3. I get really worked up (passionate) about freeing women to live a #bolditentionallife with less stress, guilt, overwhelm, and impossible standards. (Click the link in my profile to learn more + get some free stuff.) Photo: @laurelynsavannah
Every piece of art has many stories that accompany it. Each viewer add their own unique interpretation based on their experiences, thoughts, feelings and opinions. Then there are actual stories, stories that the piece of art has actually experienced.
For example, this painting experienced being blown over less then 20 minutes after its final completion! It was scratched and scuffed much to my horror and was causing pure chaos in my living room! Thankfully the palette of paint was still wet and therefore (after settling down the dog and myself) a touch up was easy lol.
Or there is always the story of where the inspiration started from. For this painting it was a photo taken on a quiet, early morning at my fiancé's cottage. A memory of calm, sweet quiet, filled with the strong smell of pine tree and water, and the presence of my man standing beside me with a steaming mug of coffee.
Sometimes there are other stories that become apart of the piece, like the story of this ones completion taking nearly a year and a half... how it hung in my office partly completed, untouched after we lost a couple friends to which both would have loved it ... how those trees will forever remind me of them.
Those are true stories about this piece of art that directly relate to its creation and its artist... it explains the feelings I have, as the artist, when gazing upon it ... a strong sense of calmness; the quiet, steady strength in my partner; a connection to nature; and a touch of melancholy. However those true stories do not make stories created by viewers of the piece any less real. That's one of the many special things about art, it's so personal and yet so open ended. It has this canny ability to morph into what it needs to be for each person who sees it, yet still remain strong in its identity. What does it mean to you? What made you gaze upon this image long enough to stop and read this? What does it make you feel? Your answers to those question are just as real as my stories. They are just as much a part of this piece of art as what I just shared with you. That's magic. That's the magic of a canvas and a paint brush. That's my magic, what shape does yours take?
Is anyone else a victim of the summer cold?! 😷🤧🙋🏻How does this even happen? I live in the desert. Germs know no season. Those little jerks. 😒... Anywhooo..... on a brighter note... I am loving these olive leaves for a pattern I've got floating around in my brain. 😍🌿
