Lake #Onondaga . Home territory, I assume, of the Onondaga nation. Who I learned, via the book Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer, have a beautiful, world-and soul- healing tradition called the Thanksgiving Address: a statement of gratitude for all of the gifts that the earth provides for us. It sets the tone of every school day and council meeting and brings all kinds together in a reflective state. They hope everyone hears it.
Thanks to Matt and Chris for hosting us and making us laugh and eat lots! <3
This is my younger brother Jordan, he's playing a traditional Haudenosaunee winter sport Snowsnakes.
The Seneca Nation used him in this pose to fashion their award medals, I think it's cool!
