I don't like museums. Maybe because I grew up in Greece and it was compulsory to go and visit museums and archeological sites since we were kids to learn about our inheritance. Or maybe because the museums we visited were not interactive enough and nobody explained to us what exactly was that we were looking at.
Many years had to pass to change that perception of mine; I visited as an adult the relatively new Acropolis Museum in Athens.
It opened its doors in 2009 and for greek standars, it is an architectural masterpiece with glass ceilings and floors!
As one enters, after purchasing a ticket, has the chance to witness a travel back to history, the best way possible! The sculptures are placed by era and are so many you cannot get enough! I stayed there for hours, reading the caption in each and every one of them. Let alone, the visitor can learn about the greek history by watching a documentary in a hall in the second floor. And reaching the end of the tour, one can enjoy amazing view of the Acropolis and the Parthenon sipping a cup of coffee in the veranda cafe of the museum! I've had a miracle idea and made a 2 in 1 smoothie. Busy bees porridge doesn't have to be eaten at the table. Blitz it and drink it while you travel into work. Add protein powder to it. Small slow sips across the morning and the rest after your lunchtime workout. Oats, Soya milk, protein powder, chia seeds, dried mango or something naturally sweet to contrast the oats. Leave your clean blender and lid on the machine so that you can add, blitz and go within 1 minute. Enjoy!
