Dr. Seligman, author of the book Learned Optimism, notes that pessimists are "catastrophizers." Rather than noticing specific reasons for certain failures, they believe everything in their life is falling apart. I'm certainly guilty of this! 🙋
For this #tiptuesday , remember that a weakness in one arena does not dictate your entire existence. Life will always be a chaotic work in progress. 🔆
🔥@vaniccilondon:🔥 ✔ Few days ago, me and my lady went to see Queen Anne. I thought it was a fascinating history play with uncanny modern parallels!
The play focuses most on the friendship between Queen Anne and her confidante and companion, the scheming Sarah Churchill. They were childhood friends but it’s clear Sarah now views her with contempt and uses their intimacy – they even have little pet names for each other – to the advantage of her and her husband, the Duke of Marlborough.
What about you? Do you love going to Musicals and Theatre shows? If so, comment below and share your favourite play...💋💋💋

Yes this picture is edited but I did take it myself... this morning I was really engaged in a conversation with myself and I really want to ellaborate.
I was thinking about what I like to do and where I can take that and something VERY real dawned on me. I realized that the thing I love to do is influence people to view the world from a more optimistic point of view. Whether it's making people smile at 4 in the morning, having a good conversation with a gentleman I don't know or simply giving advice to my friends, I take so much pride in being #optimistic .
Heres the twist: my own personal goal or my "why" is to be the most supportive person, FINANCIALLY speaking, for my family first and my loved ones. The problem is that I can't have both right now but I am still loving the #process because I know that the outcome will be what I MAKE IT! Sorry for the novel but I feel like we should all take a second, if you're in a similar situation to my own, to really think about YOUR manifesto.
Gratitude is an emotion expressing appreciation for what one has—as opposed to, for example, a consumer-driven emphasis on what one wants. Gratitude is getting a great deal of attention as a facet of positive psychology: Studies show that we can deliberately cultivate gratitude, and can increase our well-being and happiness by doing so. In addition, gratefulness—and especially expression of it to others—is associated with increased energy, optimism, and empathy. In my experience, when I am able to deeply appreciate the moment and all the gifts evident in it, I feel lighter, more joyous, and more worthy of receiving it. Where focus goes energy flows...and by focusing on what I'm grateful for, a continuous abundance of goodness flows into my life, magically! Eckhart Tolle said, "If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough." Two year anniversary today with my best friend! ✨🐰 I couldn’t be more grateful and lucky to have had you in my life throughout the crazy, unpredictable, difficult, and stressful moments the last two years brought, as well as all the magical, fun, adventurous, and joyful times we’ve shared. From the day we met, I felt so calm and comfortable like we’d known each other forever, and since then I’ve also been so inspired by the way you put your heart and soul into your vision for life and what it takes to get there. Seeing that gave me the courage to follow my own big and out-there dreams and it means the world that you’ve been so supportive and helpful along the way. I’ve missed you tons being long-distance since leaving SC but after some adjusting I believe it made our relationship stronger. Happy 2 years! Can’t wait to see you soon love. 😘
“It’s all good” seems to be a mantra of mine. I think in the past, it may have been said a little more sarcastically.
I used to have to try to be optimistic. It required effort to look on the bright side. It didn’t come naturally to me. Or maybe it did, but I was conditioned by the world to see what was wrong first.
I’ve discovered that optimistic is who I truly am now. My thoughts are generally positive. Not Pollyanna-positive, but realistic-positive.
Here’s a prime example from this morning: it’s “spa” day for the office assistants; aka they have appointments with Miss Heather their amazing groomer. Rusty is a little challenging in this department.
He is a rescue pup, and we haven’t had much success in the grooming department. (Yet!) He is a mix of Maltese and shitzu, so he has hair that just keeps growing and growing and growing. Unfortunately his beautiful locks are prone to become dreadlocks since he is adverse to being brushed.
Today’s grooming effort wasn’t any more successful than any prior attempts (despite the magic of Miss Heather and a little pharmaceutical help from his vet)
So...although his haircut is less than perfect and only actually partially done, the bright side is that he didn’t bite anyone today AND he has fewer mattes now than he did this morning.
And though I’m covered in white dog hair, I count myself lucky that Rusty has chosen me to be his human, and that we were able to do a partial haircut today because he trusts me enough to let me hold him. (And he smothered me in dog kisses as soon as we were away from the scary puppy spa)
So we will keep trying. In the meantime, shall we give this new haircut a fancy name? Perhaps he can make it trendy and fashion forward!
I believe we are all born as geniuses. But growing up, our inner voice got silenced, making us think we are not good enough. We were taught to play it safe and just survive through life. My purpose and passion is to remind you that you are so much more. You didn't enter this world merely to survive, but to thrive! Put your hand on your heart and listen to that gentle voice that's been there for you since the moment you oppened your eyes. Follow it, it just needs to be reignited once more. 🌎🍁📝💻😊 #infj#introvert#passion#dreams#uniqueness#roadlesstravelled#purpose#optimism#intuition#innervoice#pursuitofhappiness#thrive
Stop focusing on what could go wrong, and start focusing on what could go right!
I used to spend so much time stopping myself from ever hoping for the best, because I didn’t want to feel let down or disappointed. Little did I know how much goodness I stopped myself from experiencing.
Even if we don’t get what we’re hoping for, there is so much to love and learn about in the process. It’s more than worth any ounce of disappointment we risk by allowing ourselves to dream, and to have hope in that dream ❤️
Idk about you all, but sometimes it's easier to push yourself when you have others watching or counting on you... So happy to have so many motivating and strong women around me!
Even more fun when we get to dress up! 👗
Happy day friends!!!🦄🤗
