The food that you see in the photo is a so called “fruit salad” mixed with cashew nuts. Very seldom we prepare it and this one we did it once in 6 months and we did share it with friends. As a dessert is much healthier than any processed dessert but in large quantities and too often can hurt on a long run.
So we know that fruits generally are full of vitamins, minerals and with all these we recommend to eat them in moderation because of this “thing” called FRUCTOSE.
Fructose is a simple sugar found in fruit and your liver metabolizes it in fat. Eating too many fruits daily, large amounts, increases your risk to have certain health conditions as insulin and leptin resistance to tough degenerative health problems.
The specialists recommendations are to limit your total daily fructose intake to 25 grams a day and if you have insulin resistance, high blood pressure or any other inflammatory health problemis better to bring it down to 15 grams and even less. Some of the OG Goodness Me Mississauga family members. Back when I tried a ting with my crown and naturally grown a Ras. Wow! I was heavy in my RastafarI element those days! Back when one of my coworkers playfully made fun of me eating a Vegan nutrition. Asking me if I eat Air and Sun, and I laughed in agreement because I have done that before 😂. #eatthesun#sungazing . Back when I was still fresh in my Yoga Teacher element, planning out how I'm gonna hold this path down. Back when I practiced Austerity - simple living... when I decided to Monk myself, spend time with only myself for a full year to rediscover my Truth. Back when I felt my coworkers thought I was a snob, when really I was just always focused on monitoring my Mind, Word-Sound, and self-development. Jeeeez! I can go on about my journey at this time. Fast-forward to where I am now and all the growth and transformations and changes I've gone thru in a quick span of two years. Goodness Me being an integral part of that alignment! Meeting so many amazing beautiful people, customers who I call family and my very own Yoga students ;). There's no other retail job I've ever enjoyed more than this.

I've been trying to figure out whether the health food scene in Bali is rooted in the authentic culture or if it's just to please all the progressive travelers. Maybe it's both. And if it is influenced by the western spiritual movement, if that's a bad thing or not... regardless, I am loving the food here. It seems like every day I find a new, amazing cafe with consciously grown and prepared food, for a third of what it would cost in the states.
This was my lunch yesterday--brown rice, marinated tempeh, steamed and raw greens, sweet potato, beet kraut, tomato, cucumber, sprouts, curry cashews, and a curry-goji vinaigrette dressing.
I'll tell ya one thing: when I get home, I'm gonna have LOTS of new cooking ideas and inspiration 😏😁😍
