This has been one of my favorite tomato varieties this year. The plants grow nonstop and as soon as I cut one bunch, two more bunches are already ripe! 🍅 Having what seems like an endless supply of tomatoes is a great way to easily add vitamin C to a variety of salads and hearty dishes! 🌱
My Alaska Mix Nasturtiums just keep getting better!! To the right of this pic, in the thick of it, is my Peppermint Stick Celery growing on the concrete - currently the best one in the garden ha! I know I'm on a huge Nasturtium tangent at the moment, thanks for humouring me 🙊🌿
Greens Galore! Our Winter Seedlings are coming in Strong! 💪🏻 Ill be busy thinning & transplanting soon! 😍🌱❄️ We cleared out the hoop house of all the tomatoes and will be buying amendments this week to add to the soil, soon after I’ll be spending a afternoon doing my favorite thing, planting all this new life! ❤️
Please don’t tell me I’m the only one who gets super excited about stuff I can EAT growing in my garden 😂😳 literally every day I check and I have something new flowering or growing. Lemons, zucchini, lettuce, spinach, snow peas, strawberries, blueberries, tomatoes and these are just a few! Doesn’t get any fresher than that!
Day 119 #carries365daysofgratitude - Home away from home for a few days. I'm not sure I've ever just gone away to chill somewhere. I am so excited! 1st stop hot tub. Next stop sleep!! Thank you to my friend who gave me her condo for a few days. So grateful. 💖 #relaxingmode#refresh
Remember to protect your cauliflowers from sunburn and blanch them when they are about 2 inches in diameter. Clothes pegs, twine and anything you can use to tie the leaves. Cauliflowers will be ready about 1 week after blanching. ✌
Sometimes the best thing you can do is go for a barefoot hike. Some days the best thing to do is to just nature. Yes, nature is now a verb. "Earthing" or "grounding" which is basically skin to earth contact has SO MANY benefits. ✔️Reduces inflammation by reducing excess positive electrons
🏃♀️Enhances disturbed biological rhythms ❣️Improves blood flow and pressure
💆Relieves muscle tension and headaches
🤸♂️Supports adrenal health
🤚Protects the body from EMFs
🏋️♀️Shortens recovery time after athletic activity / from injury
And it's free. So go nature. 🌳🍄

Out of my 3 #habanero plants, this is it for peppers! They took all summer to ripen and this is what we got. 3 peppers on one plant, none on the other two. 😂 It's a good thing if I really want some habaneros I can just drive to whole foods cause this is pathetic. I think I put my plants out a week too soon and they were damaged by a frost. All summer they were extremely stunted. I'm not even sure really...I planted them the same time as last year and we had tons and tons of peppers although this is the first time I've grown habaneros... I think it was just a bad year for peppers!
Who else is planting a cover crop in their garden this year? Here at our new house the soil is not so hot - very sandy and low on organic matter. I've never needed to use as much mid-season nitrogen as I did this year, so i'm trying to build up the soil nutritional content. #gardening#soilscience#selfsufficient

Dill + Garlic Butter. So good! My family are not fond of dill. This is a great way to preserve my abundance of dill, by making and freezing slices of dill butter. I can easily add a slice to my own meals, instantly adding flavour + good fats. I make it with garlic infused olive oil to keep it #lowfodmap
Our final tomatillo harvest of the season!
We've roasted lots of tomatillos this summer but today I changed it up a bit and through these in the smoker! Roasting is sort of a go-to for me and probably most people when it comes to tomatillos, but homegrown tomatillos, just like homegrown tomatoes, have much better flavor than those you'll find in the store, so the culinary possibilities are endless. So what would you do with all of these tomatillos?
Check out today's stories to see how I made smoked tomatillo chili verde.
