At 4:50am I was cuddled up in the "morning bed" (which is infinitely more comfortable than any other time) running down a list of excuses that I could text to my personal trainer so he wouldn't bother showing up at the gym at 6:00. I had some pretty good ones, but the thought that was the loudest was: Darcie, you wanted this. Now get your ass out of this bed.

Just a couple of highlights from maxout week. I can honestly not give these guys enough credit for what they bring to the gym everyday. Some have newborns, others come in after long days at work. However, all of them put that aside and know that when they're faced with a barbell; it's time to get to work. It blows my mind that even with everything they have going on in their lives, they can still hit 5kg, 10kg, even 20kg pr's with no signs of slowing down. Congrats goes out to all of you. Abs truly are made in the kitchen! When it comes to abs I don't do any crazy workout. The one thing I really focus on when I'm trying to shape my abs is my diet. I avoid carbs ( bread, rice, pasta), added sugar, and deep fried food. DIET TRULY IS THE HARDEST THING TO CORRECT so if you're struggling with that don't loose hope, just  keep pushing. You can start by cutting things out slowly instead of all at once. ITS POSSIBLE is all I'm going to say! Keep pushing. -

Well... My wife
@roxburychic has been motivating me to get back to running. 
As per the left pic....i thought long and hard about it and decided....as per the right pic.... That running would be a great way for me to get my conditioning back 😁😁😁 I use to run quite a bit in my past but to be honest I always struggled with enjoying it.  Im going to try and change that mindset. Getting older I know it's important that I spend more of my training focus on improving my cardiovascular health. So....as of today im starting my running training again.  Baby steps though

Looking to break sub 20 minutes on the 5km run again by next summer

I'll be an older and heavier athlete from when I was running that time years ago but I know I can do it

Low back pain? Tight hips? Inactive glutes ?? Whatever the issue you need to work on your hip flexors 💪

Get into a grounded lunge and squeeze the glutes of the back leg. These should be small pulses - 30 per leg MINIMUM
