Captain T E Lawrence, aka Lawrence of Arabia (1888-1935). Initially at the start of the war, he didn't join straight away; instead he was held in what was basically the reserve corps whilst the army decided on what to do with his evident skills. The army judging that because of his extensive travel, that he was best to be in the intelligence corps. In October 1914 he was sent to survey the 'Wilderness of Zin' an area that was prone to Ottoman attack and one that needed research into defence. With growing complications in Arabia he was sent to meet Sharif Hussein, the Emir of Mecca in 1915 to sort out British security in places such as the Suez and the port of Aden in Yemen. In the spring of 1916 he was sent to Mesopotamia in northern Arabia to relieve the tension on the Siege of Kut. Whilst all of this was going on, he had no clue as to the Sykes-Picot agreement, something I'm sure he would've disagreed with entirely. In October 1916 he met with all of the sons of Sharif Hussein as to who would lead the Arab revolt. He chose Faisal Hussein and would stay loyal to him until the fall of Damascus in 1918. From January 1917-September 1918 he led 11 attacks on Ottoman defensive positions all over the Middle East. By the summer of 1918 the Ottomans had put a £5,000 bounty on his head but this soon rose to £20,000 and yet no one betrayed him because he was seen as a son of Sharif Hussein. He stayed in the military until March 1935 but sadly on 13th May he was involved in a motorbike accident when he went around a sharp corner and lost control; he went over the handlebars and was sent to hospital. He died from his injuries on 19th May 1935 aged 46 years old. #19141918#thegreatwar#worldwar1#WW1#middleeast#ottoman#turkey#arabia#captain

The yellow cow a.k.a. ottoman finally has arrived. Things feel way more complete now. Sadly, I still have a ton more to do in this room, BUT... progress is happening. I think it's safe to say I'm in love. @carocake1 @furniturelandsouth @wesley_hall_inc @hhousefurn @loloirugs @altardstate @fa11ony8s #AsForMeAndMyHouseWeWillServeTheLord

Image 1: Palestine was under Ottoman rule for four centuries until the British took control. The Ottomans had fought hard to defend Jerusalem from British attack, an estimated 25,000 soldiers were martyred. Finally, they had no choice but to surrender. The Ottoman governor penned the following decree:

- Signed Izzat the Mutasarrif of Jerusalem

Jerusalem would now be under British mandate and years later would fall under occupation by newly formed Israel. Terrorist activity bought over by Israelis would harm the Holy Land for the first time since centuries.

At the same time Palestine was accepting European Jewish refugees as did other Muslim countries providing a safe haven for Europeans escaping war. Muslims and Hindus were sent from India to fight the Ottomans in Mesopotamia and Palestine after Oil was found, those who refused were executed by firing squads and this led to the Mutiny of the Indian army and the German Indian-Ghaddar mutiny.
The British then sent Lawrence of Arabia who was Jewish and accordimg to some sources gay, to turn the Arabs against the Ottomans. Situatiob got to a extent that the Ottoman Turks would hold on to the Kiswh of the Kabaah and say "we seek refuge in Allah from you, amd the Arabs would chop of the hands of these Muslim Turks, in hope of the fake promises the British promised the Arabs.
