Flashback to our old life on the farm up at Rabbit proof fence up in west Maya WA, this crop was the size of a normal paddock in the property.I called it tank paddock. Basically it had a tank in it ...,but you can't see it- it's too far away. Everything was too far away, town, doctors, neighbours, and fresh milk. A very simple life. And a different life too - rich in a different raw dusty way. He had saved up for this farm from working a couple of decades on the outback mines so it was hard for him to let go. Incredible to think now we sit overlooking the rainbow trout pound down lush green rolling land on the water .....such a change. Back in the day if it ever rained, we would stand out in it fully clothed breathing in that 'rain on the winds' air. We were happy it we got 300mls. We had a aqua pond as a 'mid day dip' pond - he bought it for me for Christmas one year. Basically it was used get the red dirt off that stuck to our sweat before lunch and cool down the core temp. We used to dip in full clothes. In 50 degree heat. so...The workload hasn't changed but the acreage has and suddenly it's so much harder to choose. Maybe because we only had limited options before and now the worlds our oyster - literally if we wanted to. I'm happy we did that time out there - makes me appreciate the big move here ever more so.
