Charlie out about midstream in his Old Town. The beautiful autumn leaves were sparse this far out, but on the calm waters underneath the overhanging trees along most of the banks, they were more closely gathered. To see the riverbed thru the clear water, see the reflection of the sky on the surface, and have all of that broken by the floating colored leaves was a pleasure the entire trip. @oldtowncanoes
To all the Women in my life:
I was walking around in the drug store yesterday waiting for a prescription. I found myself picking up a specific magazine that used to be a common read for me. Its called Women’s Health. I am sure a lot of you read it or even have a subscription to it. Two years ago I wouldn’t have thought twice about what I reading. Yesterday was different 📚
The article that caught my eye.. and literally made me laugh out loud in the middle of the drugstore was called Hot and Happy. 🔥
For some reason, we have been taught that as long as we look good we will also feel good (mentally). As long as our boobs are perky, our eye brows are stencilled and our stomach is flat.. We are happy.
Now I don’t know about you but if I’m having a bad day, I don’t go home and draw some eye brows on and all of a sudden I’m in a better mood. 👀
Obviously thats being dramatic but I hope you understand where I am coming from.
Our happiness doesn’t directly correlate to what we look like. If it did then I’m sure Brittney Spears probably wouldn’t have shaved her head.
Disclaimer- In this photo, my hygiene is lacking 😂, I definitely do not have makeup on, and I’m pretty sure I had homemade chicken fingers and pasta for dinner (cause apparently carbs are bad according to another article in that magazine🖕)
But I'm HAPPY 😊
I am not saying that you cannot be happy with makeup on, a proper shower or a 6 pack. Im not saying that we should stop living a healthy lifestyle either. Im saying that our society today needs BALANCE⚖️. Im saying that maybe we are working so hard on the outside we are forgetting about the inside.
Our minds are the most beautiful and complex part of us. They make us unique and special. They make us different and set us apart from one another. They make us powerful. What if we started to teach the next generation that a healthy mind is more important then a perfect body. Could you imagine the positive changes we would see in society?! Lets start teaching the next generation to be proud of their bodies for what they can do.. not for what they look like 💕
This past weekend I went on a two day #paddlingadventure with my good friend Charlie. Charlie is the only local fellow reenactor that we get to hang out with. We decided not to camp 18th century this time, but our next outing, in a few weeks, will be. Our beginning was just below Lock 3 at Batesville, just where the White River leaves the Ozark Mountains and starts meandering thru the plains toward the Mississippi.
rec·i·proc·i·ty -- the practice of exchanging things with others for mutual benefit || This word came up a lot today, both literally, and as a concept during conversation about the world in which we live. I have to continue to believe the world was meant to be shared and for beings to live in communion with one another. Whether plants, people, or our beloved mountains, we have a responsibility to practice reciprocity with each other: engaging in a relationship where we don't look to seek to raise ourselves over the other but to ensure both parties are heard and known. When these relationships are lost and reciprocity turns into antagonism is when the balance and harmony of the world falls apart. Yes, I believe there are times to take a stand and make your point known and to mind the gap where others have fallen. But I also believe there are times where we are to consider how best to do that while also maintaining the humanity of all. Love our mountains, love people, and love yourself. Happy Monday.
At no other time (than autumn) does the earth let itself be inhaled in one smell, the ripe earth; in a smell that is in no way inferior to the smell of the sea, bitter where it borders on taste, and more honeysweet where you feel it touching the first sounds. Containing depth within itself, darkness, something of the grave almost.

I like the kind of people that get excited over the stars at night.
Thanks to @joelschat for this photo + for always being ok with staying up most of the night to watch the stars. ⭐️⭐️ I have arrived in Paris + very happy to spend the next few days exploring as much as I can. Follow along on my stories.
