The play area ground was killing my palms, it’s this rubber rocky surface and my hands were black when I was done! I figured it’s good for my balance. 👌🏼 My feet don’t automatically just touch my head but with some pushing I eventually get there, with one foot at least!

This December, I’ve been craving yoga binds and puppy hugs (and, OK, hot toddies). Historically, I have abused my body in a million ways. While I still do to an extent, I’m trying to be a gentler tenant. Part of that process is listening more attentively to its cues. This time of year, even in absurdly warm Californian weather, it’s bearing all of the signs of winter: it is slower and sleepier, less malleable and willing, more vulnerable and introspective. So, this^^ is me—with tangled bed hippie hair—working to strike a rare moment of balance between resisting total hibernation + giving my tiny vessel the lenity it so clearly needs, in the form of the stabilizing #garudasana (which increases circulation and improves digestion ahead of the upcoming decadence). Here’s to a week of corporeal therapy before the holidays 🎋

The warrior spirit is a persistent one. But those who don’t give up often struggle with letting go. Whether of control, of outcomes, of other people’s actions... trying to change it or fix it is a waist of our precious energy and time. 🕰
Today while I was climbing, I found myself wanting the bolt to be closer and complaining about it. (For those of you who don’t climb, this is a fixed piece of protection you clip the rope into —the further it is away the more scared I can feel). A warrior doesn’t waste time trying to change the unchangeable and, instead, tries to focus on what COULD be done. 🕰
Here are some signs you’ve let your warrior power slip away: complaining, blaming others, making excuses, not believing in yourself. Some ways to reclaim it: speak the truth, be accountable, rest when tired, know your limits, ask for help. .
