The lone tree in Carpenteria Beach
Back in July, I had an amazing opportunity to make the drive up from Southern California to San Francisco. First stop was Carpenteria Beach - I left Ventura at 6:00 am in the morning and this was the 1st stop on my 18 hour drive (485 miles) from Southern California to San Francisco. This drive should have only taken 5.5 hours but ended up being 18 hours beacuse I took my sweet time and stopped everywhere to take in some of the most breath taking views in California and some photos here and there hehe :P Stay tuned for the 2nd stop!

Until you spread your wings, you'll have no idea how far you can fly 🕊
Isn't it amazing how far you can go when you set out to follow your heart?
I hiked this trail back in February when I first discovered my true passion for opting outside. It was challenging. Everything hurt. My fear of heights did not allow me to enjoy the views at the top. Anxiety was high and I was literally shaking. I had to stay as low to the ground as I possibly could. I was scared shitless! Now, this 6 mile hike to the highest point in the Santa Monica mountains is not difficult, but it was for me then.
I hiked the very same trail yesterday, it was easy, cut my time by half, and was able to climb to the top, stand tall and free at the steep edge of the mountain, feel the cool wind in my face, and take in the views without the presence of any fear whatsoever!
So yes, it is amazing how far you can go when you venture out on a journey with all your heart. Since the first time I hiked this trail (7 months ago to be exact), Ive hiked so many miles, tripled the mileage, more than tripled the elevation, and summitted some of the highest peaks in So Cal! Now, don't get me wrong, I'm still a slower hiker, but my body is so much stronger and my heart so much braver than it was back then.
I guess what I'm trying to say after this long read is to find something that truly sparks the fire In your heart and do it. Do it A LOT. And if you suck at it, still do it. Stick with it, spread your wings, and I promise you will get stronger, you will overcome your fears, and YOU. WILL. BE. AMAZING! ♥️ Adri #ReflectOnYourJourney#ChallengeYourself#SinMiedo#ChooseMountains#GoOutside#hikergirl#hike#hiking
California is not my favorite place sometimes, I admit. It's filled with traffic, excessive pollution, bad economy, and overpopulation. I will often rant about how California is undeservingly glorified and romanticized. But this, this ocean view and being near the water, in Malibu specifically, is so damn peaceful to me. It's these trips to the beach and these moments that I get put in my place and realize, "I live in California!" People dream about coming to this place and here I am, taking it for granted. My love affair with California is not always magical, but I'm so lucky for the experience! ✨🌊☀️💕🌴✨🌊☀️💕🌴✨🌊☀️💕🌴✨🌊☀️💕🌴✨🌊☀️💕🌴✨ #californialove#momentofreflection
