Time to test maxes 😄
It's been a while since I attempted maximal loads as I was allowing my hips to 'rest' for a few months. I took it upon myself to work on my form before starting a new program. Overall, I'm quite happy with my progress since I was able to complete a training cycle pain free 😁
Squat: 157.5kg (12.5kg PR)
Bench: 77.5kg (2.5kg PR)
Deadlift: 180kg (5kg PR)
Total - 415kg @ Bodyweight 67.5kg

GOOD HIP CONTROL HELPS IN PREVENTING KNEE INJURIES @optimize.physiotherapy
Hip control 🔑
▪️Hip stability and strength is critical for athletes and people involved in running/cutting/pivoting sports. Lack of hip control is probably the biggest factor in knee injuries and the dreaded ACL tear
▪️ Most ACL tears are non-contact injuries. They typically happen when someone cuts or pivots rapidly, mis-steps, or fall awkwardly. The common mechanism of injury is when the knee collapses into valgus and internal rotation
▪️Hip (specifically lateral glute) control is a huge preventative factor. The glutes stabilize the hip and prevent against knee collapse from above, especially when on one leg (such as in sport). It often means the difference between gaining control of the knee and recovering vs. sustaining the injury
▪️ If you are an athlete or play a sport where ACL risk is greater, then make sure you emphasize hip stability training and general glute control/strengthening. ACL risk can be identified by a simple movement screen to see how someone is using their hips, especially when on one foot

This sweet mare broke her shoulder in a paddock accident 2 years ago and is still very atrophied through the right side of her chest and across her shoulder. UPPER BACK STRETCH
As our muscles are 60% fascia and it is quite sticky. When we have bad posture sitting at a desk this can cause adhesions/stiffness through the upper back, if not treated this can "lock" those muscles in place and leaving you with a rounded back or worse pain and injury. Here is a stretch to help increase the elasticity through the rhomboids, lower traps, lats, and eliminate the adhesions through these muscles. .
1] Grab the pole/door frame with one hand high and one hand low
2] Place your feet together close to the pole/door frame
3] Lean away from the pole putting tension through the shoulder and back on the low hand side
4] Breathe out and let your hips shift further away from the pole, breathe in bringing your hips closer to the pole
5] Repeat 10-15x/side
* The top hand is for support and balance .
NOTE: To also increase the elasticity of the muscles and decrease stiffness is proper strengthening exercises. You have increased the range of motion but your body does not know how to move through that new plane. .

Great exercise for scapular stability and to improve shoulder function.
