"Paul Rouphail’s work conflates trompe-l’oeil painting and depictions of graphs within domestic interiors, window panes, and neon. In referencing Otis Kaye’s didactic images of the 1930’s and 40’s, as well as Frederic Jameson’s symbolic act, Rouphail’s paintings reimagine spaces where emojis and analytics confront and consume each other."--Smart Objects ...
Turhan Hatice Sultan (1627 – 4 August 1683; Turhan was Haseki Sultan of the Ottoman Sultan Ibrahim (1640-1648) and Valide Sultan as mother of Mehmed IV (1648-1687). Turhan Hatice was prominent for the regency of her young son and her building patronage. She and her mother-in-law, Kösem Sultan, are the only two women in Ottoman history to be regarded as official regents and had supreme control over the Ottoman Empire. Turhan Hatice herself was the only one in Ottoman history to equally share the power of running the entire empire with Ottoman Sultan legally, although in fact she transferred her political power to the grand vizier. As a result, Turhan became one of the prominent figures during the era known as Sultanate of Women.#ottoman#sultans#painting#turkish
She spread her legs apart, to get close enough, to destroy my heart, to hear my secrets, to tear them in half, an enemy, in lingerie, she could trick the world, but never me❌ MKX @mysterykidx Art: @apolloniasaintclair_
Nel suo posto in riva al fiume
Suzanne ti ha voluto accanto
e ora ascolti andar le barche
ora vuoi dormirle al fianco
si lo sai che lei è pazza
ma per questo sei con lei
e ti offre il the e le arance
che ha portato dalla Cina
e proprio mentre stai per dirle
che non hai amore da offrirle
lei è già sulla tua onda
e fa il fiume ti risponda
che da sempre siete amanti.
E tu vuoi viaggiarle insieme
vuoi viaggiarle insieme ciecamente
perchè sai che le hai toccato il corpo
il suo corpo perfetto con la mente.
