Love No. 46, 1979 - Burhan Dogançay.
A visit to Israel in 1975 inspired Dogançay to begin his extensive walls of the World Series, which includes many of his most critically acclaimed and signature works. He often invoked the motif of the heart, noting that people are often more ashamed of their tenderness than their violence. The artist stated , "only love can solve our problems; love and also beautiful compositions." The use of #turquoise recalls the favored color on public buildings throughout the #islamic world for its association with the waters of paradise. In combination with #Hebrew words, this painting also evokes both the #Jewish holy site of the wailing wall of Jerusalem as well as graffiti on the streets of Tel Aviv. The arrow suggests a detour or escape, around or through the wall to a liberating place of #Love . #art#artwork#painting#acrylic same and #mixedmedia on #canvas#clevelandmuseumofart ❤️
«Wait right here, I’ll be back in the morning
I know that I’m not that important to you but to me girl, you’re so much more than gorgeous
So much more than perfect
Right now I know that I'm not really worth it
If you give me time I can work on it
Give me some time while I work on it
Losing your patience and girl, I don’t blame you
The earth’s in rotation, you’re waiting for me. [...] » -Lil Peep, Star Shopping
Une éphémère beauté. Le fait que ça soit éphémère est stressant. Quand elle sera vieillissante, l'aimerons nous autant? 🌸
The weekend might be coming to a close, but @singaporeinkshow, @publicgarden and @dynastytravel are still going strong with the crowds! Whether you're in the mood for shopping, travelling or getting a tattoo, #SuntecSG is the place to be today!
Had such an eventful day painting a new piece that I'm extremely proud of. This is the aftermath of cleaning up..... I'm very shy about sharing my work to the world, but I'm going to start doing so as I would like to build a name for myself in the industry. I'm looking at creating a website for my work, so I'll let you know if that ends up happening.... 🎨🖤 #artist#writer#art#painting#acrylicpainting#beautiful
I did end up with this! It was $1.99. I watch a lot of Antiques Roadshow. I kept saying "Frank Olmsted" over & over to myself. For $1.99, I thought I better grab it. I like it. So, there's no problem with me having it as a decorative piece that's not worth much. That's like everything I have. So, it'll fit right in! I looked up the name, & I got two Olmsteds, both named Fredrick. Look them up if you want to know more. But, the name must have rang a bell, since the first one that comes up, is the Landscape Designer, that designed Manhattan's Central Park. So, a pretty important person! This, is in my mind, not that Olmsted. I got excited when it said that he liked to draw trees on hillsides. But, this piece is too modern. This is a modern piece of work. Even the signature is modern & whimsical. Like more of a contemporary of Charles Schultz, not Carnegie, Rockefeller, or other New York names of the late 19th & early 20th Industrialists. This piece lacks that style, that self-importance. It's too casual. This can't predate the 1950's. It's probably 1970's or even 80's. Just someone in an Studio Art Class, that does a pretty good job of it. It's marked on the back, in pencil "#3 ", which could mean anything. I like it. I had the name in my head. But, the Designer of Central Park did not make this. #foundatgoodwill#secondhandpainting#secondhandshop#watercolor#sketch#treesandhills#frankolmsted#olmsted#art#painting#twodollars
