Results from yesterday’s seared duck... Loved the flavor and that crispy skin ! The meat was slightly pink, tender and juicy, but... just a tad over for me. I think it would’ve been just right without the oven finish. No complaints, it was delicious and I can’t wait to try again.
This was just for fun, so I threw together the sauce w/ simple ingredients on hand. Deglazed skillet w/ white wine, added fine grated garlic, orange marmalade, bone broth, tarragon and s&p. Reduced until thickened.

I blew myself away with this dinner last night 😋😋 Shrimp coated in @nutcrumbs over homemade pesto and a bed of zucchini noodles. SO good. I may try it without the nut crumbs next time but zucchini noodles with pesto is my new favorite!

These are two decisions I made early on in life, be positive wherever I can and always be grateful.

I decide to be positive when often the easier course is to be negative.
And I decide to look for things I can be grateful about even when it seems like there is a desert of nothingness and I have to look REALLY hard.
And I just adore these qualities in others. This morning @yoginimum Tonya was both positive and grateful in our leaders group. Her comment in a post just shone out and I actually got tears in my eyes. She didn’t need to be positive or grateful as the post didn’t need it. Tonya DECIDED to be both and it was beautiful.

It may not be the prettiest Instagram food pic, but man was it delicious. I "paleofied" (someone back me up on that word please) @damn_delicious Slow Cooker Creamy Garlic Chicken & Veggies. I swapped out heavy cream for coconut cream, added a bit more salt to balance out the sweet...and just used extra chicken broth instead of the wine.

This month I ordered some apricots and hemp seeds mostly for Laurella as those apricots are so soft and the hemp seeds are one of the best source of omega 3 for Laurella. Ezekiel and I are loving our new straws. My glass straw finally broke, so I decided to add a couple to the group. There are three other colors. At first I was bummed because the pipe cleaner that came with it was super heavy duty and would not fit. It would get jammed inside. Maybe I was doing it wrong. Lol But after going to a different store I found some that fit perfectly. Did you know that humans use .5 billion plastic straws every single fucking day? Little toxic tubes that end up in our oceans and in the bellies of living creatures??? Just so we can get some liquid inside us? We do it because everybody else does it too. It's the normal. It needs to stop. I'm putting into effect immediately, a new law...If you use a plastic straw, you have to eat it afterwards!!!! 😂 if you don't, it's a $1000 fine. Let's see how many straws we use after that. Also this smoothie was simple and delicious. Spinach, carrot, mango, strawberry, banana. Since we are getting close to Halloween, I wanted to feature some “Spooky Potions” to help with some common concerns. Since I have had many people asking about essential oils for seasonal allergies, I thought I would start with some suggestions for adults and children.
For Adults: 1-2 drops each of lemon, peppermint, and lavender, 3-5 drops coconut oil, and apply to the back of your neck, across the top of your forehead, bottom of your feet, and then inhale the aroma from your hands. Apply this mix as often as needed. You can also add 1 drop of each oil to a glass of water 4 (oz) and drink first thing in the morning. ***Not all essential oils can be used internally. Please contact me for more details. Most essential oils are not pure and can be toxic if used internally.
For Kids: using a 10ml roller bottle, combine 3-5 drops each of lemon, peppermint, and lavender then fill the rest of the roller bottle with fractionated coconut oil. Roll down spine, back of neck, bottoms of feet and apply as needed.
You will love the spooky effects of these oils as they work their magic and help to relieve some of your allergy symptoms! What are you allergic to?
I got a bunch of tiny taters in my farm box this week, but that hasn't stopped me from stuffing them with all the goods. What this little guy lacks in looks it makes up for in deliciousness. Inside we've got two scrambled, pastured eggs, caramelized onions, roasted butternut squash, and sautéed spinach. I forgot to add seasoning, hence the swish of Everything But The Bagel on the side.
