"Chocolate is the first luxury. It has so many things wrapped up in it: Deliciusness in the moment, childhood memories, and that grin-inducing feeling of getting a reward for being good." - Mariska Hargitay
💢 causa danos à saúde;
💢 desperta sentimento de culpa;
💢 te afasta do teu objetivo;
💢 causa descontrole, compulsão;
💢 traz sentimento de derrota, impotência diante do alimento;

An experimental fish recipe that turned to be super hit. Sid begged for another serving, but there was none left...I have promised to recreate the same on Saturday. .
I decided to "paleofy" the Bengali fish fry. And also give a slight twist to the regular flavor.
I marinated the fish fillets (I used Swaii/Basa) with salt, cayenne pepper and cilantro-mint chutney. The chutney was store bought.. the usual one that you serve with samosas. I let it hang out for 20 minutes or so. Then I dipped the fish fillets in whisked egg and coated in a mix of almond flour, garlic powder, salt, pepper, chili powder. Sprayed it with oil and baked in an 400F oven for 20 minutes, flipping once.
The slaw was store bought. It's was a salad kit, but a few days old. Do instead of eating it raw, I stir-fried it in garlic oil.
It was a delicious. The chutney twist worked perfectly. The flavor was awesome. And almond meal was pretty crunchy. Did not miss the bread crumbs at all....
Do your knees sound like popcorn in the microwave when you squat?! (Find out why today!)👇🏼
This cracking' noise is often caused by stiffness in our body. Try this simple progression & see if it helps👇🏼
1️⃣foam roll the quads for 2 minutes (searching out stiff spots in the muscle). You want to be a mean massage therapist to yourself so don't stray away from spots that hurt a bit! This will help improve your soft tissue pliability without any decreases in performance✅
2️⃣lightly stretch the quads. The couch stretch is a great way to do this. A 30 second stretch will decrease stiffness in the muscles without a decrease in power production for your workout✅
3️⃣mobilize into a position you'll then be using in your workout. I love the goblet squat stretch. Take a kettle bell or a plate & sit into a deep squat (shoes off or flat sole shoe is preferred). Hold this for 30 seconds to 2 minutes. Then re-rest your squat and see how it feels🏋🏽
If your 'cracking' continues, is accompanied with pain, I recommend getting screened by a sports physical therapist as this may be an issue that requires a more individual approach to fixing

Let's talk pancakes! These are the two brands that we keep stocked in our house. We have to keep them both stocked because my husband and I have had a bit of a disagreement on which one is best. Truth be told, they are both excellent and cleaner options. However, I love that the Julian Bakery option is a bit thicker and has a light cinnamon taste. My husband loves the lighter Simple Mills option. Here is the breakdown of each:
-gluten free and paleo friendly
-9g protein, 6g net carbs, 3g sugar, 170 calories (for one pancake)
-ingredients: almond flour, dried egg whites, salt, vanilla extract powder, potassium bicarbonate, stevia, cinnamon
-makes 6-8 pancakes
-I purchase this on Amazon... it is a bit pricey.
-gluten free and paleo friendly
-6g protein, 16 net carbs, 4g sugar, 140 calories (for 2 pancakes)
-ingredients: almond flour, arrowroot, organic coconut sugar, organic coconut flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, sea salt
-makes 14 pancakes
-I purchase this on Thrive Market, but I know you could get this at Target and Whole Foods too.. and the price point is far better.

Roasted veggies for days🙌... zucchini, carrots, fennel and parsnips all tossed with evoo, s&p, and fresh rosemary that I had on hand... 450 for 45 min to 1 hr- honestly not sure on timing because I'm winging this. What's for dinner in your house tonight?
Do you love a good sausage on the grill? Well beware, "there could be horse meat in your pork sausage. Or pork in your beef sausage. Or beef in your chicken sausage. Or chicken (and only chicken) in your turkey sausage," stated a Maclean's article earlier this month. Based on a small sample in a federally-funded study, researchers found that 1 in 5 grocery store sausages in Canada contain meat not specified on the label - and not just trace amounts either!
Our housemade Kootenay Co-op Butcher Shop sausages, on the other hand, are some of the cleanest you'll ever see (or taste!). Free from fillers or mystery meats, these #sausages are the real deal. Ask your Co-op butcher today what's in your sausage. Here are some great shots of our butcher, Ross, making some "British Bangers"! POP BY TODAY for FREE samples of our housemade "Flaming Italian" sausages made with #TrueLocal Ebesse Zozo Hot Sauce! 3:30-6:30pm

Are YOU Tolerating gluten free food?⠀
I tolerated eating salads, fish, baked potatoes and fish so many times that I lost count. Seriously restaurants think that taking off breading and plucking it down on a gluten free menu and I should eat it.⠀
I use to do this all the time because I thought I was being with my friends, family or because I was so tired I didn't want to eat out. Just a few reasons I used to tell myself because I need to so that I could be social. ⠀
I realized one day that I was tolerating the food I ate. You know it was fuel for my body but I wasn't enjoying it. Like so grateful when I took a bite of that food and loved the flavor. ⠀
You know I saw that I was tolerating food to be with others. You might think this isn't a bad thing to do. This is how the ego creeps in through your self-worth, your health and everything else that you are putting off. These things do matter. You have to think you are worth it. You're worth eating food that lights you up and your mouth. ⠀
Eating gluten free doesn't mean that you eat whatever is given to you, that you cant enjoy food now and still be social.⠀
It means you have to take responsibility for your health and how you eat. Going to restaurants don't think they have to offer good completely gluten free food doesn't work for me or you. You deserve to eat amazing food.⠀
Are you going to keep tolerating your food and how other people treat you?
