Somewhere along the way, half peeled bananas became “Monkey Bananas”. Thank goodness because for some reason these yellow things are a hot commodity. 🍌🍌 Any fruit and veggie promoting tricks and we’re all about it. 🤣What tricks do you have?
Modified lunch from Day 6 of the #21dsd meal plan. Instead of turkey BLT w avocado on lettuce leaves, I used grass-fed roast beef, guacamole, cherry tomato and a small dollop of #primalkitchen Chipotle Mayo.
@mcmayhem6 @stephanierhiannon and I went a lil cray cray today with our amazingly awesome Christmas present from our aunt and uncle!!! Cappuccino with just some heavy cream and strong brewed coffee. So easy. 😭 We’re spoiled.
That person who brings brussels, bacon, and balsamic to the NYE party. 😬 It’s just so good! Side note: I love how my kids will eat any veggie that I’m prepping in the kitchen. I’ve determined that veggie intake vastly increases when said veggies are either 1) on mommy’s plate, or 2) when mommy is chopping them and hasn’t offered any yet. 🙏🏼👍🏼
Went away on family vacay for a few day-days (amazing present from Mom Mom and Opi 😍😍). Before we leave to go anywhere I’m always like WHAT CAN I EVEN BRING FOOD-WISE. Then I remember all this awesome stuff. Most of it was already in my house so dat’s cool. Vacation eats!
Making our fave paleo cookies for Santa today! In a season where “standard” candies, cookies, cakes, pies and any other sugar laden treats are hard to avoid, hubberoni and I like knowing at least this one treat is nourishing. Sugar is obviously okay in moderation but we don’t believe in having standard refined sugary foods on even most days (this includes typical processed flours that are found in cereals, crackers, breads, etc).
⠀⠀Regular sugar intake is linked to a host of disorders and decreases immunity- ironically at this time when colds and flus run rampant, and..
⠀⠀Our whole house enjoys sugar and processed stuff from time to time (it’s just not a regular thing).
It’s an uphill battle to find proper nutrition in our society (especially when there’s so much conflicting info out there!) but I stand with all the parents trying their best. And no, I fo sho NEVER think I’m above anyone else. Just a nutrition nerd tryna fight the system of lies, profits, and literal garbage. 😏

Y'ALL. Y'ALL. LOOK. Paleo friendly food truck trash! I found some frozen fries without all the added chemicals, whole30 bacon, cashew/veggie/chia nacho "cheese," chives, and a yummy clean hot sauce. It sucked watching everyone eat all the truck food all weekend. I knew it would make me feel so sick, so it was easy in a way to resist, but I still wanted to indulge. Today’s breaking of the fast (15ish/9ish today)! I’ve been doing 16/8 and there are so many cool benefits I didn’t expect. I’ve read about it for years- especially in a paleo context, and a few weeks ago I started toying around with a lower carb (than I already was), higher fat thang and ... why not 🤷🏻♀️... intermittent fasting. Nope, not starving myself, in fact I feel fuller and more content. It’s kinda unreal. Gonna keep toying with it cuz I love good fats. (Other benefits- increased immunity, decreased inflammation, hormone regulation, increased energy. But Google / peer reviewed research explains better). Boots n’ baby bananas. Saw these suckers and thought I’d surprise the kids with a “oh my goodness look at these little baby bananas aren’t they the cutest things EVER?!” ploy to get them pumped for non-added sugar treats 🤣. Will have to find new tactics in a year or two.

Randomly stumbled upon a very low carb, high fat bread and felt like trying it out. Super easy- mix stuff and bake for 45 mins. I tried it plain with just some salt and ghee and it was great! Very slight egg taste but I don’t mind that personally. Would probably be bang-a-lang with an egg and raw cheese 😱. With only 7 ingredients I feel it’s a better choice for the whole house. If anyone wants the recipe, lemme know! I’ll send the link. 🍞🤤

Cuz I’m weird and like to try new things to keep life spicy / improve health, I’ve been dabbling with lower carb (high fat) and intermittent fasting. It’s been 5 days and lemme tell ya how much better my clothes fit. Woot! 5 days?! (NOT TRYING TO LOSE WEIGHT BUT FEELING COMFY IN MY SKIN IS ALWAYS PREFERRED). Never thought I’d be “good” for this but it’s pretty awesome so far. If anything, preparing 1 less meal a day is kinda amaze 😆. And no, it’s not starvation; I’ve just been eating the same amount in a shorter time frame. I’m such a noob so I’d love to chat! ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

Stir fry shot from last night. Wasn’t planning on showcasing this but I always love such veggie colors!! Recipe from muh gurl (disclaimer not really muh girl but I can pretend) @dianesanfilippo’s Practical Paleo 2nd Edition cookbook. I would’ve never thought to add red onions and it turned out even yummier.
In terms of sugar content this amazing chocolate ganache cake my wife made for my birthday may not be “strictly Paleo” but it’s next level delicious,100% grain and diary free, and I can absolutely guarantee you won’t miss either of them.
