Finally, the first dummy for the Parkland Walk photobook is done.
I've been photographing Parkland Walk since 2008 and have lived on both ends of the walk in the past 10 years (Highgate and Finsbury Park).
The project manifested into a variety of forms including a screening with live oud music at Amhurst Republic (Parkland Walk Live Performance, 2011), an online exhibition (Northern Elegies, 2015). Both projects can be viewed on my website under projects (link in bio).
A third manifestation of this project with very slow transition slideshow projection was the reason of my failing the MA in photographic Studies at Westminster University back in 2011. When the tutor said I should print the photos rather than project them, she emailed me after the crit saying if I don't do as she says I will fail the module. I presented the work as I intended it to be, and she failed me.
Parkland Walk follows the path of a disused railway line that connected Finsbury Park and Alexander Palace and was put out of service on the mid 1960s. The walk was declared a local nature reserve in 1990.
