So that day I almost ate dirt... Setting up in Parsva Bakasana (side crow), my weight shifted too far forward to the point I was a hair away of having a mouth full of earth. All the time on my mat paid off in an instantaneous moment - the rewiring and strengthening of my nervousness system, my muscles and my mind. New behaviors surprised me - my core stayed engaged and my feet shot back to compensate. I actually had a descent in-air plank and landed it! Since this day, I now purposefully practice this transition instead of by accident (and with more grace)! The key for me is to lean more forward! Mindful Monday flow - with a super early start, my body often resists the transition from repose to roused… a #vigorous#vinyasa seems to be the remedy. 💪 Here is a small cut of this mornings flow that I like to call ‘as the crow flies’ 😜 Working on making the progression from #plalakasana (#plankpose ) to #bakasana a little lighter; as well as getting in to the space where I can straighten my arms. #crowpose is an all over body toner - strengthening arms, wrists, shoulders, abdominal muscles, and spine. #parsvabakasana (#sidecrow ) in addition, stretches the upper back and groin, improves flexibility throughout the spine and lower back.
