Tonight, I say goodnight to the PCT one last time. As I sit in my tent, with the heaviest of hearts but the fullest of souls, under the starry sky, I am contemplating a lot of this journey. It's strange to be sitting here with uncontrollable 'real' tears pissing down my face. I have not felt this overwhelming truthful sadness in a very long time. I am also trying not to get upset because it's the desert, today was a heat wave, I'm dehydrated and I don't have enough water to make up for these tears!! Haha! Tomorrow, it all comes to an end. This experience of a lifetime. I have not one regret and I would do it all again in a heartbeat. I thank each and every one of you for supporting me on this journey and following me into the wilderness. I know people think I'm crazy, and thought my parents were even crazier, but this is me. I will be me. I have 10 miles to go to reach that Mexican border monument, and I will enjoy every step. To be the only Australian solo Southbounding female thru-hiker on the PCT for 2017 and have almost made it to the border, I am proud of myself. And I could not have done one step of this without my mum and dad. How fearful this must've been for them and they have held me up every step! I love them beyond words and am eternally grateful for everything they are and do. I know they know that, but I am nothing without them. Happy thanksgiving, y'all. I am thankful for everything I am, the person I have become and this entire journey. Let's get to that border!!! Xoxo
Happy Thanksgiving! I present the spine of the #highsierra to you all. If your hiking #pct2018 don't miss your chance to summit #mtwhitney and see this beauty. Thankful to have hiked the trail this year!
Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Here at PCT: Oregon, we’re thankful for big mountains, icy streams, vivid wildflowers, grassy meadows, furry critters, sunshine and puffy clouds, and all the hiking trails that let us explore, appreciate and find peace in these things. Cheers!
Today’s Must-Haves highlight is the Cnoc Outdoors Vertex Carbon trekking poles. We put these to work on trails all over Oregon this summer and were very pleased with their performance and stability. Plus, they’re super lightweight and compact!
