Symbol of Freedom .
"The bird is a symbol of freedom. It has wings that unfold to lift it away from danger, towards food, or to ride the breeze. No one tells the bird what to do. The bird is just a bird without judgment. We should take a hint and be like the bird--to be allotted the freedom to be ourselves without judgment...live dangerously, eat what or who we want, and ride the breeze." #ALLHANDSIN . . . . . . . . . . . . .
To get a glimpse at my All Hands In project come be a part of Strange Dreams, a flash art event that showcases artwork sparked by the feelings towards the current state of our nation. This Friday June 30th from 6-10 pm in the Ecotrust Building
Snapped a shot of this messy wall because I LOVE the sad cat... And it took all my will power not to break out my purse Sharpie (for bartending) and draw a vulva next to that crude penis. The only thing that stopped me was because I convinced myseld it might actually be a lighthouse 😂😁😉
My afternoon project—a 36" x 36" piece.
The big expanse of pink reminds me of frosting. I think it's because this piece has been such a joy to create.
Creating should first and foremost be about joy. Once you get what you like in your bones, then you can set about refining and assessing with a designer's eye—if, IF, you want to.
But first, create for you. Otherwise, every trend, criticism, or compliment will take you away from your center and you will be lost.
You know how it feels when the sky opens and the eternal loving energy of the universe shines directly onto the top of your head and you know shit just can't go wrong and the possibility - nay, CERTAINTY - that something brilliant is about to happen feels so real that you don't even want to blink because basking in the glow of your own inexhaustible potential is your everything at that moment? Like wearing underwear made of the pelts of kittens, but with waaaaaay less guilt. Yeah.
