STRAIGHTEN OUT YOUR PELVIS!
.
Is your pelvis all twisted up? You probably don't even know if it is. But it could be a reason some of your movements just feel "off".😕
.
Now what do I mean by rotated pelvis? I'm not talking about a misalignment of your bones or anything like that. What I mean is that your lower body may preferentially twist or turn to one side. We just see it most readily from the pelvis.
.
So find your ASIS's. Those are the bony bumps on the front of your pelvis. Put your fingers on them and stand feet together. Is one further forward than the other? That could be a rotated pelvis. Note that their is anatomical variance here side to side so don't grasp onto micro-differences. It's likely not significant. But if your pelvis actually seems to face off to one side, it could be that you preferentially turn that way.

✋Now, this may not affect you at all. It's not the root cause of all your dysfunction. I promise. But it possibly can play into some of your movements getting a little wonky. Some things a rotated pelvis can potentially play into are...
.
🔹️Piriformis syndrome
🔹️Knee cave or valgus collapse
🔹️SI joint pain
🔹️Hip shifts when squatting
🔹️Low back pain
.
So if you think it's something that affects you, try this quick test and exercise.
.
TEST: Lay face down with the knees together. Film yourself from the front or back. Keep the knees together and spin the feet apart. We're looking for big differences in ROM like I show on @joetherapy.
.
FIX: From that same position, out a roller between the knees (optional but it helps) and a band around the ankles. Do about 15 reps, really pulling with that limited side. You should feel a burn on the outside of your hip in the glute med.🔥
.
Stand up. Recheck. And see how you look. If it helped, repeat a few sets daily in your warm up routine so that you can build off that solid foundation with better movement.

🔹How low do you go? Remember everyone's bones are different lengths, adjust as you need to. 
Begin with both feet on ground, progress to SL.  This goes along w/yesterday's video, we went over stabilization at hips. Today we are adding weights and more movement. Build your foundation correctly. 🔹balance issues? Brace your self at home w/wall or counter top 🔹stick your but out

- OBTURATOR INTERNUS sounds like an autobot from Transformers but it is actually a muscle situated deep within the cavity of the pelvis and the hip joint. Although it isn't a 'show' muscle it is very important to stretch and strengthen this muscle due to its influence on posture and for women, the positioning of the ovaries. - The obturator internus (OI) is situated close to the ovaries and due to its fascial connections (the web like connective tissue that links everything together), stretching and strengthening this muscle will have a localised and global affect on the body. - The OI is part of a fascial network know as the the Deep Front Line (DFL). This DFL runs from the foot, through the core of the torso and finishes on the base of the skull (occiput). Everything is connected. What happens at one end impacts the whole, organs included. - OI holds close relationships to the piriformis (small muscle that lives behind the big butt muscle), levator ani (pelvic floor) and the glute max (the big butt muscle). - The DFL is connected, homie! The adductors (inside of the leg), pelvic and thoracic diaphragm,  scalene (neck muscle) and the psoas (one of the most important muscles of the body as it connects the upper and lower body together), all work with the OI. 
These muscles, although varying in quantity, have a high number of slow twitch muscle fibres, meaning they respond best to higher reps, which is generally expected from postural muscles. - The exercises in the video are by no means the limit, just a few ideas. Try doing each for a minute at your own pace or clocking up high reps (25+) - I make no claims as to how impactful these exercises can be for the ovaries but if you pull the drawstring on your trackie or hoodie, it will tighten or loosen. With that in mind, stretching and strengthening the OI and surrounding muscles will have an impact on the ovaries due to its fascial connections.

A recent #patient with limited #mobility on her right shoulder, revealed to us during #assessment that her left #hip had to go through surgery 7 years ago after pregnancy and heavy running sessions. Ahh! That piece of information is so valuable for us. 
The left hip was still unstable and had the #muscles around it inhibited, which forced the #QL of the right side to work extra hard in an attempt to level up the #pelvis, which in turn caused the opposite #uppertraps to overwork and elevate and restrict #motion of the left shoulder blade. This left her system with no choice but to use her right shoulder all the time to #compensate for the stiffness everywhere else, and eventually it got locked down by the #nervoussystem as part of a protective mechanism. 
Long story short, we treated the left hip and left shoulder. The mobility in the right shoulder improved right after, as soon as the nervous system perceived #stability in the other areas and felt safe again allowing the right shoulder to move again as it should. We never touched her right shoulder.

Yo tenía 38 semanas, era el día de mi cumpleaños número 28. Sams vivía en mi vientre y ese día, por petición de mi obstetra y bajo presión familiar, me tocaba la radiopelvimetria. 
Decidí hacerla por complacer a mi familia, ya que cuando comenté que quería parir en casa, hubo miedos y dudas que tuve que trabajar profundamente para que no me alejaran de mi sueño de traer a Sams libre de violencia, en casa, en amor. Si ese era el precio para que me dejaran tranquila, lo haría.
Mi sorpresa fue cuando me dijeron que tenía "pelvis límite". Yo había estado preparándome al 1000% para parir. Para mí ese deseo no podía depender de la pelvimetria. Por eso seguí estudiando y empoderándome para no dejarme confundir. No fue nada fácil lidiar con ciertas "vacas sagradas" que la sociedad ha colocado allí (como ciertos discursos tecnocráticos y patriarcales) que terminan conduciendo muchas consciencias a inmolarse. 
Estamos diseñadas minuciosa y perfectamente para dar vida. 
Según la maravillosa ilustradora @merakilabbe nuestra #pelvis es fértil y florece. Y el hecho de que seamos mujeres implica lo salvaje, el fluir, la majestuosidad, el empoderamiento y lo natural. Todas características de una pelvis en movimiento, pariendo y cediendo paso a la vida. 
Desde esa experiencia mi vida cambió y empezó un viaje hermoso de #sororidad con muchísimas mujeres que estaban transitando este mismo camino. ⤵️🖤⤵️🖤⤵️🖤⤵️🖤⤵️
Este lunes estaré compartiendo un poco más de mi experiencia, especialmente cómo pude parir por vía vaginal sin medicación y en casa a pesar de esa pelvimetria. 
Adoraría conocer experiencias similares y ayudar a despejar dudas que todas vivimos en algún momento de nuestro embarazo, sobre todo si es el primero.

Flatos vaginais, um tabu entre homens e mulheres.
Muitas mulheres relatam uma perda de ar pela vagina, que acontece durante a relação sexual. Ao sair este ar costuma emitir sons, semelhantes aos um flato (ou gás) anal, que pode acabar constrangendo ela e/ou seu parceiro.

Flatos vaginais são comuns e podem acontecer com qualquer mulher durante a relação sexual. Por exemplo, algumas posições sexuais costumam favorecem a entrada (e a saída!) de ar pela vagina, e isso não depende de idade, de ter ou não filhos, etc.

Mulheres cuja musculatura do assoalho pélvico (MAP) está enfraquecida apresentam um risco maior de entrada/saída de ar da vagina e, portanto, de sofrerem com flatos vaginais. Por sorte, uma MAP fraca pode ser fortalecida: com exercícios específicos da Fisioterapia Pélvica. Agende já sua avaliação e fiquei sabendo como anda a saúde do seu períneo!
