The teachers of the law and the High-up religious leaders yanked a woman before Jesus who had been caught having adulterous sex. They forced her (hopefully clothed) to stand before the people. They said to Jesus, “Teacher, this woman was caught having sexual relations with a man who is not her husband. The law of Moses commands that we STONE TO DEATH EVERY woman who does this....What do you say we should do?” (*insert sneer*)They were asking this to trick Jesus so that they could have some charge against him. ....But Jesus just bent over and started writing on the ground with his finger.
Probably annoyed, they continued to ask Jesus their question, he stood up and simply said, “Anyone here who has never sinned can throw the first stone at her.” Then Jesus bent over again and wrote on the ground. (Wonder what He wrote?)
Those who heard Jesus began to leave one by one; starting first with the older men and then the others walked away.
Jesus was left there alone with the woman who sinned against Him, standing before him. Jesus stood up again and asked her, “Woman, where are they? Has no one judged you guilty?” She answered, “...No one... sir.”
Then Jesus said, “I also don’t judge you guilty. You may go now, and sin no more.” _____________________________ John 8:3-11 NCV (and my paraphrase and inserted thoughts)
This hits so hard. I thought it appropriate to illustrate, seeing as i usually am the one throwing stones or the one caught in sin.

I am wandering about Tamil Nadu landscape after aeons. Was amazed and very happy to see so many cattle all around both in the cities as well as the country side. All very healthy and not eating plastic, as elsewhere in India. Many were even wandering about the fields without being chased off😍 Here is a happy lady eating off the banana leaves used as decoration outside a Krishna temple. During Pongal dad's staffers would do puja for our cow called Lakshmi. They would also decorate our rickety car with similar though smaĺler banana stem and leaves. There is a raw smell to cut plantain stems and leaves and even today restaurants offer food on banana leaves placed over plates. And your food is distinctly flavoured by this smell. It's so much a part of being a south Indian. #arthealsheart#artstudio#art#affordable#natureart#naturelove#pencilsketch#pencil#sketch
