This is the TRUE Mozzarella di Bufala Campana DOP from Battipaglia. It is here where you’ll find farms, stores and stands lining the streets with Italy’s infamous cheese. We sampled two fresh mozzarella’s and our favorite was made by Caseificio Jemma.
Earlier in the day we visited friends in the mountain-town of Montemiletto and they gave us some fresh bread made with local stone ground flour and baked in the open fireplace along with some peperoncino grown on their farm.
We could hardly wait to taste and enjoy these special foods at a tiny table in our hotel room☺️ I’m not going to lie it was one of the BEST things I’ve ever tasted. The mozzarella was firm yet creamy and oozed with fresh bufala milk! The hot bite of peperoncino and comfort of homemade bread was pure joy. ❤️
