When Evan and I got married, neither one of us had a lot of money, still don't, and I'm sure you've probably been there once or twice. I'm not here to complain at all. God has provided just what we have needed to get by. And if you know me at all I'm a penny pincher. Any thought of spending more then we needed, I threw out the door. This is why when we were offered free wedding bands I jumped on the chance! I will not lie to you though, of course I wanted a beautiful sparkly ring (the exact one I originally wanted was a Tiffany, $32,000...yikes) . But in reality it didn't matter, not the ring, the dress or venue. I was marrying my best friend and we wanted our marriage to start in the best way possible, wedding debt not included.
The wedding band I have been wearing for the past year has been perfect, I've grown to really love it and its simplicity. Evan of course, being the sweet man that he is, still wanted to get me that ring that would put us in years of debt. But there is no way I wanted to spend that kind of money. This last week we were walking through the mall and I saw this beauty 👆😍. I had to stop and pick it up because it looked almost identical to that Tiffany ring and band I wanted. And it was just the right amount for us to be able to get it and two shirts for Evan with the money in our pockets. I was ecstatic that we didn't even spend over $50 on our shopping trip, and happy to have found a ring I love that didn't cost a fortune.
Just in case you were wondering, I do know they aren't real diamonds. I find it weird to hear people say, "if the man isn't willing to go into debt for you, he doesn't love you." But I think he loves me even more because he is looking out for our future and knows he doesn't have to buy my love with material things. And I just have to say I am in love with the man who bought me this beautiful ring.
My Gamma had a telephone/gossip bench on her top floor and I always thought it was such a neat little piece of furniture. When I saw this at Corner Store Antiques in Redkey, IN I knew this piece had to go in this exact spot. Now to find an awesome vintage phone and phone book for this. #designingdombar#midcenturymodern#perfectfind
Reposting this stunning drapers table @antonandkantiques perfect for combining the old and the new in the kitchen, similar to one placed in one of our recent open plan projects. I don't think this beauty will be available for long!
