Side planking my way into the weekend. 
How to do a correct side plank:
the side plank on the elbow requires you to support your body weight on your forearm and the side of one foot. Considerable core strength is needed to keep your hips from sinking toward the floor. When performing this exercise, pay attention to good form. Keep your shoulders, hips, knees and feet in one straight diagonal line, and make sure your neck and head continue the line of your spine.

The most important part is DO NOT allow the “hip to rotate”. The side plank primarily works the muscles in your core. It strengthens abdominal and back muscles, particularly the transversus abdominis, rectus abdominis, obliques and quadratus lumborum. It also targets the gluteus medius and gluteus minimus in the hips, as well as the adductor muscles located in the inner thigh.

Besides a smaller size, young children have some unique athletic differences from adults. 💪SPEED & STRENGTH - Because of less anabolic hormones, they have less muscle size, strength, and speed as compared to adults, especially males. 💪MUSCLE FIBERS - With less strength, their portion of type I (slow-twitch) muscle fibers tends to be higher. 💪AEROBIC EXERCISE - Similarly, they have limited levels of intramuscular glycogen (used in anaerobic and intense aerobic exercise) but elevated levels of intramuscular triglycerides (used in less intense exercise). Their metabolic enzymes also favor the use of fat as fuel. 💪ANAEROBIC EXERCISE - Because they use anaerobic pathways less, children accumulate less lactic acid. They also regenerate phosphocreatine more quickly at rest. On the other hand, they regenerate ATP and phosphocreatine more slowly while exercising. During anaerobic exercise, they will need rest sooner, but may not need to rest for as long. 💪MOTOR PATTERNS - The nervous system is very plastic, and, as a result, it is usually easiest to learn to associate sensory information with action at this age. 💪@exercise_science💪

Test week was a big success with many lifetime PRs being smashed. 
@sabrinawahab1 back squat 210lbs and adding 31.5lbs on chin-up & 105lb flat bench. 
@livinliketolu power clean 130kg/286lbs (first clean this season) front squat 355lbs, chin-up additional 102.5 lbs, incline bench 215lbs, back squat 380lbs (first back squat this season 405 is lifetime best)
@chachou613 power clean 62.5kg/137.5lbs, front squat 170lbs, flat bench 145lbs, chin up with 52.5lbs added & 210lb back squat
Olympian @farah_jacques power clean 73.5kg/162lbs, front squat 200lbs, flat bench 150lbs, added 62.5lbs chin-up, and 240lb back squat.
