#TolkienYule Day 18~Mince Pie: Melancholy 🌌✨
Seems like the weather became tired of wallowing in self-pity, because a blinding Winter sun unexpectedly showed its nose outside this morning! 🌞🏙
Which has coincidentally contributed to ruin all my plans of talking about melancholy today, because who wants to talk about holiday season-induced melancholy when there's not a cloud in the sky and birds have been singing non-stop since sunrise!? (Maybe they're just damning the cold the only way they know how, though. I can't really tell. 🤷♀️🐦)
I hope the pic has succeeded in conveying a bit of said feeling, at least; it is not necessarily a bad thing to feel melancholic during the cold months of the year, I find it even a touch poetic and in tune with Nature's slowing and restoring process (it COULD be just the cold constricting our blood vessels around the heart that makes us feel so emotional throughout the holidays, though. Can't really tell that either. 😂🙈)
Anyway, if you're 100% convinced that the feeling is genuine, I would advise you to just embrace it! I strongly believe that getting to experience all the different nuances on the emotional spectrum is a great part of living one's life, so yeah, enjoy your bout of Wintery melancholy! (Except, you know, possibly with a wool hat and scarf on. Mittens, too. It COULD turn out to be the cold after all, and we don't want to die of melancholy, but also we don't want to die period, right? Good. Glad we're clear on that LOL 👍❄)
'Tis Christmas Week that is starting today, so enjoy it to its fullest, folks! 🎅🎁
