We took a trip back to the era of plaid mini skirts, cut crease makeup, and chunky glasses. It's so fun to time travel to simpler times, like the sixties. This session was completely unplanned, Liv had been asking me for days for my ideas but I just kept saying I wasn't sure yet. I trusted myself to be clueless until the day of the shoot while we went thrift shopping for clothes. We found these AWESOME sixties inspired fashion pieces and I think we really captured a cool vibe. What generation do you relate to the most!? What do you want to see next?!👓
A huge thank you to my model, Liv. As you can tell, she absolutely killed the session! Always a blast working with such a great friend! 💖📸
Arindam Sen :: www.facebook.com/arindams123
Originally from India, Arindam came to USA in 2003 for work. After spending more than a decade in Connecticut. Arindam, his loving wife Sumana, and refreshing 9 year old daughter Anushka moved to Pittsburgh in August 2014. Today Arindam is working for one of Pittsburgh’s most well-known healthcare organization, Highmark. Arindam loves nature, travel, country and gospel music, and of-course he has a passion for photography.
Visual art creates good memories. Arindam wanted to preserve meaningful memories of his daughter’s childhood and that was the first reason for him to get into photography. After that, last year, he started taking this to the next level so that he could create good memories for others through his lenses. He started taking meaningful landscapes when he bought his first DSLR (a Nikon D5500). Slowly he started doing events and portraits and stepped up to a full frame camera (Nikon D750) in April of 2017.
This picture is of the Market St. Pier from the North Shore river trail. The photograph was captured during the first week of December when Pittsburgh had severe fog for 3 days in a row! The fog engulfed the whole background in this photograph while giving it a white canvas feel and the water on the Allegheny River was dead still to get a perfect reflection. For Arindam this picture symbolizes serenity of the nature, as one of his friend said – “once you start looking you really don’t feel like taking your eyes off this peaceful scene.”
“To me, its an honor to be included in the gallery. For me, its a platform to showcase my work. It means that my work will now get spread and reach distinguished members of this famous group who encourages and promotes photography and art. This will surely encourage me to put additional effort and keep improving as now the expectations will be high! I didn’t get chosen for a few months on a row, so this forum, in a way helped me in pushing to take better photographs.”
Arindam would like to dedicate this gallery piece to his family, without their help and support he would not have been able to carry forward his passion for photography.
Michael Leber :: @drone_division_
Michael founded Drone Division in July 2016 when he realized the opportunity to pair his extensive trade industry background with his love of technology and drone operation. Michael’s early career was rooted in construction and masonry before he moved on to field operations in the oil & gas industry. It was there that he saw the significant number of ways in which drones could be used commercially, and Drone Division was born.
Michael started flying drones in early 2013 and it just consumed him, everyday that’s all he wanted to do. Then as the cameras started to get better on the drones he started learning about photography. All day he would watch YouTube videos and webinars to learn how to take photos. He never really had passion about anything in his life until he picked up a camera, it really changed his life.
Michael has been trying to get pictures of Pittsburgh completely covered in fog for about a year, every time he thought there would be fog there wasn’t. The day he took this was just complete luck, he had no idea the fog was going to be so thick. When he arrived at the spot he wanted to capture from there were a ton of photographers so he got the drone out and flew into the city. A few of them commented saying ”that’s not fair”.
“Being part of this galley is an honor really, I’m very hard on myself when it comes to my work so I never think it is good enough. For this organization to pick my photo to be in a gallery is amazing and I truly appreciate it.”
Michael would like to thank his Fiancé, she is his biggest support. If it wasn’t for her he would of never followed this dream.
I have to say this shoot meant a lot to me, for so many reasons. Katelyn’s friendship is truly a gift because she is one of the most genuine and encouraging people I know. No matter how long her and I haven’t talked for, I know she is someone I will always be able to count on. From her random texts picking me up when I’m down, to drinking coffee listening to her and seeing how much she has bloomed. She truly is such an inspiration to me and others around her. I am so grateful for her friendship and having the pleasure of knowing her. Thank you Katelyn for blessing my life with your brilliant outlook on life, you will change the world. ☕️

Cassie makes my job SO hard... Why? BECAUSE SHE IS TOO STINKING PRETTY! I can't choose a favorite, she is utterly gorgeous! Her and I go waayyyy back to fourth grade when I approached her and asked her, "Will you be my best friend?" We have sooo many memories to even fathom, each one being as fun as the next. As we both went away for school we grew more distant, but when we get back together it feels like nothings changed. Cass will always be a great friend and one of my favorite models to work with. ❣️
