I shared my thoughts on the brilliant work our #pharmacy delivery drivers do with Chemist and Druggist Magazine. An essential part of the team and I'm very lucky to work with drivers who go the extra mile. https://www.chemistanddruggist.co.uk/feature/delivery-drivers-ambassadors-pharmacy?cid=ENL-CDNEW-DAILYB-LN-STORY3-TEXT-2017-0901 #team#pharmacy24#pharmacy24#pharmacist#pharmacy365#marriedtothehustle
I talked to The Femedic about #cancer and how your #pharmacist might spot the first signs of cancer.' However, just because something is rare, it doesn’t mean it doesn’t pay to be aware of the symptoms. Pharmacist Thorrun Govind says that they are trained in how to spot symptoms that could be something serious, so if you have a concern, however minor, and are struggling to get a doctors appointment, you can always go to your pharmacy first, and they will be able to advise you or even contact your GP surgery for you.' http://thefemedic.com/sexual-health/gynaecological-cancers-risks-symptoms/ #pharmacy#pharmacy365#pharmacy24#teamalpha pharmacyfirst
Just finished filming with TRT World. The Roundtable programme, filmed today covers drug decriminalisation and I shared the important work community pharmacies do in aiding the most vulnerable in society. Drug misuse costs the NHS in England £488m a year.
TRT World is a 24-hour international English-language multimedia news organisation based in Istanbul, Turkey. Will be on Sky and available on YouTube soon. #drugpolicy#pharmacist#media#pharmacy#publichealth#pharmacy24#pharmacy365#weph#alphagame
'Face to Face Report
The NPA's new report, Face to Face, brings together true life stories about the benefits of accessible, locally based healthcare, and shows the importance of face to face relationships between patients and health professionals. It’s a reminder that the human touch matters in healthcare.' People won't realise the amazing #facetofacecare pharmacists provide until it's gone. #pharmacy#pharmacy365#pharmacy24#healthcare
Today I have the immense pleasure of seeing my brother graduate from LJMU with a Masters in Pharmacy. I know he is going to enjoy being part of this brilliant profession as much as I do.
He's highly motivated and determined and we both encourage each other to be the best we can be. Not only that but he has a commitment to fitness which he has pursued alongside his degree. This follows many years of him trailing round the country playing tennis after winning an all round scholarship to pursue his goals.
He's the one I can rely upon to get things done and I know with his caring nature and attention to detail he is going to make a success of his prereg and future career in pharmacy and patient care.
He never stops 😃. One day we are going to fight about who is going to the RP and who is going to be the 2nd pharmacist. I can't wait ☺️. Congratulations Sachin Govind we are so proud of you. #teamGovind#workethic#Pharmacy#moreGovindforyourPharmacydollar#alphagame#teamalpha#team#pharmacy24#pharmacy365#workhardplayhard#watchout
Persistence is a virtue.
I applied to take part in this and got rejected. The second time I applied I was successful. It started today. I'm talking to young people about pharmacy and what pharmacists do. It involves fast paced chats online and questions. Finally they vote for their favourite scientist to win £100 to complete a science communication project. I want to use the £100 to go into schools and help ensure every young person knows exactly how pharmacists and pharmacy staff save lives. DO NOT GIVE UP. NO just means you find another way.😀😀😀 #pharmacy24#pharmacy365#IAMASCIENTIST
As you all know, EPSA is celebrating its 40th year of existence!
We love to cooperate with other organisations in raising awareness to important health topics and our motivation to do so grows even higher when we read such messages from other professional assocations!
So we decided to share with you some of them!
Take a look at the words from the Director of ECDC, Dr Andrea Ammon.
Tonight I'm on your BBC News at 6pm and 10pm. This is just a little snip of it. #Vote for your local #independent#pharmacy in the election and when you get your prescription. Help keep them open.
Don't take free advice and then say 'it's ok Poundland sell paracetamol cheaper.' Poundland don't care once you leave the door and they won't be able to check the medication you are buying isn't dangerous with those you are already on.
Big thank you to my Sykes Chemist family in Bolton who support me and provide excellent care to patients. If you live in Bolton they should be your pharmacy.
Pharmacy is not easy. It's stressful and we can spend time worrying about our patients long after they have walked out of the door.
Be a patient patient. 😊
