Silver stains on my hands (and arms). I'm very fortunate to have worked on a wet plate collodion shoot this week. The dark stains were made by silver nitrate, which managed somehow to evade my gloves, reacting with organic matter on my skin. Despite the medium's 160-year pedigree, the wet plate collodion process is surprisingly fast: from plate sensitisation to the final image takes a mere 15 minutes. Thanks to those who made this unforgettable experience possible!
